Please read African economist Tunde Obadina's online article--google "Obadina Slave Trade." Obadina cites black complicity in the slave trade as possibly causing more long-term damage to Africa and blacks than colonialism. I'm not saying I know which interpretation is correct. But good to hear both sides.
@takfam07 Becareful of some of these writers. Most cite European sources to make their work 'scholarly',popular and compromise some issues. I don't know about the book you mentioned but consider this. In my place, slaves were almost like apprentice and had rights and would later be freed. They could be part of their master's household with no discrimination except for taking certain titles meant for the sons and daughters.These slaves were sold normally as a capital punishment for grave crimes.
@takfam07 Fathers also sold their teenagers because of their criminal inclinations beyond their control rather than destroy the community. Community didn't want their children sold into slavery. It was a taboo at least in some places. They however sold captives from inter-ethnic etc wars. However, Transatlantic slavery was entirely a different altogether both in scale and in brutallity. The old slavery was now gradually growing underground into something that had never happened in our history.

Neither did they know foreigners(Europeans) are now involved for long till the whole continet was set on fire to last for centuries. Europeans needed the slaves for their economic reasons and they did everything to keep it going including manipulating communities into wars because that was one of the easiest way to get slaves. This was one of the main reasons why it lasted so long.

With the exception of some highly miscegenated latin american countries, everywhere else including Spain, moreno is used to describe white people of a darker complexion, or dark hair or dark eyes. Moreno was never used to describe a black or moor. The proper terms are negro for black, moro for moor.

The Manuscript that I read from did have an error in the part of the information however it was not my duty to correct it as I simply served as the narrator of that portion of the documentary. Please read African economist Tunde Obadina's online article--google "Obadina Slave Trade." Obadina cites black complicity in the slave trade as possibly causing more long-term damage to Africa and blacks than colonialism. I'm not saying I know which interpretation is correct. I don't know about the book you mentioned but consider this. In my place, slaves were almost like apprentice and had rights and would later be freed. They could be part of their master's household with no discrimination except for taking certain titles meant for the sons and daughters.These slaves were sold normally as a capital punishment for grave crimes.

It was a taboo at least in some places. They however sold captives from inter-ethnic etc wars. However, Transatlantic slavery was entirely a different altogether both in scale and in brutallity. The old slavery was now gradually growing underground into something that had never happened in our history.

Neither did they know foreigners(Europeans) are now involved for long till the whole continet was set on fire to last for centuries. Europeans needed the slaves for their economic reasons and they did everything to keep it going including manipulating communities into wars because that was one of the easiest way to get slaves. This was one of the main reasons why it lasted so long.

Columbus did not call the people of America Indians. He called them "Indios" All Spanish people call the original people of the America's Indios." In" , in Spanish means "with" and "Dios" means "God". The First People of the America's are very religious. This is explained from the biography by Russel Means "Where White men fear to tread".

That's simply inaccurate. You are on the net. Simply google it. Don't dishonestly ignoring definitions like: "Moreno/a: A term used in Spanish to refer to individuals of dark skin tones." Now in some contexts the term can be used for hair color as well, but that is only because the Darker a persons hair the higher the concentration of "original" or black DNA they have in their genes. @RevolutionaryINK The 'Real Academia de la Lengua Espanola' in Spain publishes the most authoritative dictionary on the language, I suggest you look it up if you care at all about accuracy. With the exception of some highly miscegenated latin american countries, everywhere else including Spain, moreno is used to describe white people of a darker complexion, or dark hair or dark eyes. Moreno was never used to describe a black or moor. The proper terms are negro for black, moro for moor.

The "Indian" explanation is wrong. Columbus wrote to the Spanish describing
the people as "Gente en dios"= People of God. He was italian and mis wrote the phrase as "Indios" =Indians. There was No India in 1492. It was called Hindustan. So Columbus couldnt have Meant Indian
