This was partially because he knew someone (a fan maybe?? i dont really know) who was very sick. He meant alot to Buddy and this song was sort of influenced by him. He's not around anymore, but he showed the singer of senses fail how life should be lived. idk, it meant alot to me. the ful stories on the websit for hurly

Buddy was told of his condition and decided to spend some time in the hospital with him and through the visits Buddy learnt of the truth behind the human condition and was helped through his depression from the break-up.

If anybody is wondering, this song was written about a kid named Marcel from Dallas. The reason both Yellow Angels and this song have "Wake up you're sleeping behind the wheel" is because he wrote both of these about Marcel. Marcel died of cancer. He became friends with Buddy at a concert though before that. Look on there myspace and check out the story.
