I never heard of him before until I saw it posted on the somebody's youtube link. All I can is that he looked like the type of guy that I'd like to hang out with. I went through all his videos and those who left short condolence messages. What a shame that his life was caught so short.

I want to thank you for your awesome videos, enjoyed it a lot, I definitely made up my mind that i also want to go to Japan for sure.i came across your videos on youtube and watched them all in about 2 days, crazy huh!

cool, actually the weather should be fairly nice when you go, it won't be as hot as it surely is now and it never gets too cold in the winter (at least tokyo doesn't). judging from what i know about what luke has said about the weather in your neck of the woods, i think it should be very enjoyable. thanks for subscribing!
rogerswan is probably the best all around channel on youtube (editing, content, variety, background music, etc.) and that is hard to be good when you arent a comedy channel.
Wow. I've watched most of your videos and never commented but its been fun and interesting watching! Its gonna suck not seeing any more vids from Japan. Good luck with everything!
it's pretty sad that your experience in Japan and all that is over now..i enjoyed this series, and hopefully you go there again soon in a couple of years and make a second series..look forward to more J-Horror Reviews too..
this is a really lovely clip. i loved the ending so much. perhaps sentimentalized in a good way by the nostaligically beautiful sax, it was very emotional & atmospheric. it's interesting how movies call up déjà vu-like feelings in viewers minds each-to-their-own way. i haven't been to japan, but i could somehow relate to the scenes in it.
tokyo swan 44 brought me to feel as if i actually knew that a horde of them run 2 seconds before it starts to rain like they got instinct. ty for nice vids!
Get your ASS back to Tokyo, kid! One (1) more year of College in Michigan and you are gone! Gone to the world as you know it; back to Japan as you remember it; a new beginning in the life of Rodger Swan! It is all for you to be your own!
I didn't get a chance to see the video before now... Boy is it good! And it at least makes me very excited and happy to hear that you'll continue to make videos.

Great to hear that you may be making more videos, and honestly that was an amazing finally to the tokyoswan series. I am looking forward to your next excursion into youtube.
Great final, i enjoyed watching your series quite a lot. And i support the continuation of the horror reviews, they were really good. Got me into some movies i wouldn`t have heard of otherwise. Anyway, keep making videos. Best wishes from germany.

SWAN SONG! Sayonara Tokyo! Hello Michigan (boring)! A swan w/out water is like a swan w/out beauty. Hurry back Swan-san, before there are no more swan left afloat in your cinematic dream. Why were you were walking toward the ending of the film...?! Was it allegory or irony?
Thanks for making your videos and giving us a glimpse into your year, sorry to see your adventures in Japan come to an end. Hopefully you have tons of b-roll you can make a few more episodes from.
I really enjoyed watching your videos and just want to say thanks for letting us be part of your tokyo experience. I look forward to seeing some of your future shows. Godspeed.
I just want to say Rodger, the videos were great. I'm glad we had the opportunity to see what life was like for you in Tokyo and share some of you experiences. It's sad that this is the end for TokyoSwan. Thank you Rodger, best of luck on the new stuff. If you ever come to Norway, hit me up! I would love to meet you ;-)
It's amazing to the fact that now your home after living in japan for awhile and everyone you had met, you left behind, for awhile. (I'm really hoping you go back and see Sam. You two are so silly.)
I started watching Cooney, about two weeks ago? One of his vids led me to you. I had watched pretty much all your vids. And ya you have changed, but then again you have matured even more. And, you also inspired me to try to study in Japan. You made it took like total fun. And I'll still be watching!
I also came back from Japan 3 days ago (i stayed only 2 weeks though). It was an amazing experience and i really can't wait to come back. Thank you Rodger Swan for your great episodes!!!
Wow man it is hard to believe that you are done with the tokyo vids. But I can't help but think that with all your videos that you've made that you can most likely can watch at any time. And taking account all the amazing experiences you've had. I wonder if in the back of your mind you are trying to figure out how to get back to Tokyo. I know I would. And if that is so, I think I speak for many in saying that would awesome. Thanks Swan you've really inspired a lot of people, including me.
Roger, I really want to express my appreciation for the great work you've done throughout the year on this show. I've been following it almost from the beginning and have enjoyed every episode. It's a shame I didn't get a chance to meet you and express my gratitude in person when I visited Luke in February. However, if you ever visit Luke in England, I'm only a few doors down so make sure you say hi! Best of luck for the future, and I look forward to any later videos you may decide to make! x
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Your videos where the best. I will still be watching your new videos and i am sure that they will be just as good. I hope you make your way back to japan some day.
Thanks for making Tokyo Swan! You're 21? I am too. Must be nice living in Japan at that age :D. I lived there as a kid from 1st to 6th grade. I miss being there.
Aw I'm so sad to see the last video. I've LOVED your video's Rodger. They've been great and a lot of fun. :) I'm glad you're going to keep the vlog going. :D You're only twenty-one? I thought you were at least twenty-three! Aw loved seeing all the other people in your video collage like Irene, Sam and some of the others. :D Oh you should post the links of those you knew in Japan who has a Youtube channel. :D
Thanks so much for the series. It's in part thanks to your channel that I've decided to soon start adding my own videos. Looking forward to your new the direction you decide to take your channel in. Thanks, again. :)
Dude, you know you rule and your vidz will probably always be more entertaining than mine and even though you are out of the country now we are still and always will be the Young Japan Youtube rivals ;)
Wow, it's so weird to see a finale episode to TokyoSwan. I'm going to miss the updates of seeing your adventures every week, it's been totally rockin' viewing all of the different places of Tokyo from your perspective.
Thanks for uploading so many awesome vids, just seeing this footage has helped my view points of Tokyo for my visit in about a month - All the best in Michigan!
P.p.s. Any tips for a fellow soon to be Tokyoite?
and again a nice one! I'll look forward to new Swan videos then! I think we all gained lots of experience here in Japan! I wish us all the best for our future lifes!!!
This made me want to cry, you are my favorite show... I DONT EVEN NEED TV!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!! lol oh well I hope to see more of what you make. I loved every vid (cept the acting thing) and it has (with the help of tokyocooney) inspired me to do a vlog in the near future! :) LOVE yoU MAN! :D
Thanks for the great episodes!!! It will be sad that there will be no more weekly swan episodes to enjoy but I guess all good things must come to an end at some time or another. Believe it or not you have taught me more about Japan than I could ever read in a book. I feel like I've visited the country without ever having been there.
I look forward to future swan updates. It will be exciting to see how you are doing and what wonderful things you have accomplished.
hey man i absolutely love all of your videos, i think you've really inspired me to try making some videos of my own when i make the trip over there in a few years. I wish you all the best in your future life and hope you keep in touch with all of your fans still here on youtube =)
It's so sad to see you go Swan T_T. One of my greatest inspirations on youtube and definetly one of the best Japan bloggers out there, you are already missed. Thanks alot for making your fantastic videos that i know made many people including myself very happy when we saw a new one come out. We'll all be looking forward to your new videos!
great vid. These vids about Tokyo and japan in general have really kept me going and striving to go to Japan. More importantly it made me decide to make vids on youtube when I get to Japan. Thanks and I hope you return.
Awesome job TS! I hope you realize that with these videos you motivate and inspire people to go out and grab life by the balls! Keep it real you suave, handsome devil you!
whoa, my place looks almost the exact same! How will you deal with all the space when you get home. Anyway, glad you liked Japan! It was good meeting you at the uhhh... festival! keep up the scary movie reviews. Peace!
Well, Swan, it's been a real kick-ass pleasure viewing your life in Japan. I hope this is not the last video you'll make. Hope you had a safe trip home. Also, hope you do more Japanese horror film reviews in the future. PEACE.
Awesome final!!! I've watched every episode since the first one came out. Its wierd its like I was almost there every time because your videos were so great. Good luck dude I hope you find your way back out someday and make my dream a reality of Living in Japan to!
Thanks for such an amazing video journey. The series meant a lot to me. Please keep making more videos and I hope you do decide to review films in the future. Good luck with the next part of your video journey. I'll be watching. See ya next time, Cheers. Lou
Dude, I really do hope you keep on making videos. You could still do Japanese horror reviews or anime reviews or something related to Japan. You do such things rather well.
Anyway, good luck with your senior year. Who knows? After you graduate, you could very well come back to Japan. But even if you don't, I'll keep watching.
sir, thank you very much for taking the effort on these videos. i was wondering how you feel about being part of peoples lives that you will never meet. just remember that no matter how alone you feel, from now on there will always be people out there who care.
Yeah, it's out in English now. As well as Boogiepop, it seems our old friend Echoes is back. I'm hoping Spooky Electric makes an appearance again as well. But yeah, keep an eye out for it! Seven Seas Entertainment has also announced they will be releasing the novels "Boogiepop In The Mirror" and "Boogiepop Overdrive" but the date is still TBA.
Rad video Swan!! I've been a big fan since the start of your journey. I can honestly say without any doubt that you are one of the Youtuber's that has inspired me to continue with my goal of setting the employment program for persons with disabilities in Japan. Your awesome!!!!!
On behalf of all of the subscibers/viewers I want to say THANK YOU so much for all the videos. You are by far one of the best vloggers on YouTube. Your videos were informative and very entertaining and I always looked forward to watching them. I am going to miss your vids of Japan a lot :P
Awesome video. Kinda sad. But Awesome! I can't wait if you are going to make another Japanese Horror Review. Even thought I would be happy if you reveiwed some remakes, and say what your opinion about them.
well, Whatever you make I am sure it will be awesome! And I hope it will be a Tokyo Swan season 2(or something like that), That would be cool!
Hayato here. I've really enjoyed the series, and hope you keep up with occasional updates, man.
On the Horror Review note, you should continue, but maybe with foreign films in general and not just horror? Anyway, if you're ever in Vegas, hit me up. I'd love to chat about your experiences in Japan and mine. I'll throw my AIM your way in a message.
Welcome back to the states, I love your videos in Japan keep on making more or just updates on how's life going. Please dont stop your horror reviews.
You're a good man, Rodger Swan. I've lived 2of your lives (I'm 42 yrs. old) but wish I were 21 again. You have a lot of life to live. Don't allow yourself to get disrailed. Make your dreams come true while you're still young. Old guys like me lament the past and the mistakes we've made. But I too have a lot of life to live and dreams to make come true. Maybe one day we'll meet somewhere in the great Tokyo metropolis! Until then, here's looking at you kid!
welcome back to the states and glad to hear that you want to make more videos. i've enjoyed your tokyo/japanese experience on youtube, and will say, gambatte kudasai.
It's been a pleasure watching your videos, Swan. From start to finish it's clear how in both your appearance and personality you seem to have grown up but not in a jaded sense. The times you had in Japan are special and I can only hope I get to enrich my life like that as well. I hope we see a TokyoSwan part 2 in the future, keep growin that pornostache mate.
this totally weirded me out and gave me a sense of reality and perspective. I am sat here in Coventry, England, laughing at you talking and for once you're not in the room with me!
this made me cry so much!! GAAAAAH
I MISS YOU!!
But it's only until next year... Bring on Japan 2009, Tokyo Swan & Jennie in Japan WILL reunite!
kool video Swan, looks like you had a blast in Japan. I watched all your Tokyo Swan videos. Whatever kind of videos you decide to make from now on should be awesome,I do miss the Japanese Horror Reviews, but do what you want.
i feel sad even if i watchted the first video today, but japanese is really a great language. Ruhe in Frieden.

Best of luck for the future, and I look forward to any later videos you may decide to make! x

Until next time...

It's really sad to see Tokyo Swan end! But I do look forward to your next video project, whatever it may be XD.
Also, there's a new Boogiepop light novel out. Boogiepop At Dawn. I just picked it up yesterday and started it today.
OsakaBomb 3 years ago
woah really, did it come out in english? Weird, I was just wondering today when that was coming out, thanks for the heads up!
rodgerswan 3 years ago
Yeah, it's out in English now. As well as Boogiepop, it seems our old friend Echoes is back. I'm hoping Spooky Electric makes an appearance again as well. But yeah, keep an eye out for it! Seven Seas Entertainment has also announced they will be releasing the novels "Boogiepop In The Mirror" and "Boogiepop Overdrive" but the date is still TBA.

Talk to you soon!
