The singer lacks charisma or great talent, as does the guitarist, but the guitarist stays carefully within his realm and play beautifully there. The drummer and basist are normal and OK. The song writing is good and original, the production necessarily simple and clean. A pretty good job all around.
@vcx9dfne if you watch more of Bono (the singer) you'll see just how respected and renowned he is across the globe. he has his own unique charisma that few people can reproduce, but everyone can recognize as his. he's one of the best voices in music. and you're right, the maintain their style of music perfectly. god Bono's hair is so aweful during this show....so thin and whispy. He had a hair transplant and wore a partial hairpiece during Elevation since he was going bald by the end of PopMart. He didn't wear a hairpiece during Vertigo....he had additional transplants though....but his hair is so thin and nasty during this show

I was at this gig. This was my second time to see U2 in the United Centre, 2001 being the first. This is one of my top 3 favourite songs performed Live, especially when it's extended (due to the stage guest). Listening to The Edge at this part is just pure magic. As for the chick.. She is absolutly HOT..!! I was about 20ft away from here in the crowd. Love watching this vid over and over again. Can't wait for July 5th 2011 in Soldier Field, and hopefully the chick will be there too..!!!

I grew up on U2's October, War, and Unforgettable Fire back when I was a "social justice" activist. I've since learned of the unintended consequences these kinds of policies so you'd think I'd have left behind U2's music. But wow, regardless of their ethics/politics, U2 flat out rocks. Saw The Edge's self deprecating style on It Might Get Loud and wondered is he really that good to represent a generation of guitarists..got the Vertigo DVD. Yeah he is that good. That band is that good, too!

The song is about God, what ever God is, he, she or it (because who are we to say who is wrong and right. We all have our own beliefs) Bono uses She in the song as symbolism for God.

I grew up on U2's October, War, and Unforgettable Fire back when I was a "social justice" activist. I've since learned of the unintended consequences these kinds of policies so you'd think I'd have left behind U2's music. But wow, regardless of their ethics/politics, U2 flat out rocks. Saw The Edge's self deprecating style on It Might Get Loud and wondered is he really that good to represent a generation of guitarists..got the Vertigo DVD. Yeah he is that good. That band is that good, too!

Would anyone agree that this is the best performance of this song, EVER? As my favourite song, I've listened to just about every performance of it which has been recorded, but none has ever come close to this one!

@hatrickp : I think the performance at mexico city at popmart, as well as that of zoo tv at sydney are better!.. This is 9.9/10 though!! :D
