lol its 120m each for the worlds most advanced fight plane, tests have shown 1 f-22 taking down up to 8 f-15s, the f-15 said to be americas greatest fighter since its kill ratio is still till this day over 100 kills to 0 deaths in air to air combat.
No it really is 9.5 G´s. I talked with a guy who lives in germany who has been living in USA and been a fighterpilot yesterday. And it really is 9.5G´s but its only for a matter of decimals like 0.26 secs so it doesnt affect the aircraft and all you feel is that its shaking and you are getting like sucked into the cockpit seat
They did stop producing the F-22 for combat. They switched over to the lockhead F-35 after deeming it better then the boeing f-32 I think it was. F-35 is neat because of it's vertical take off capabilities.
flying these is such a challenge,, 4 year degree, then ocs, 6-8 weeks, then flight school, 1 year, then training on the aircraft youll fly, another year,,and if you cant withstand the G-force at the end, you wasted your time,, but im well on my way,, for any of you that want to be a pilot,,work hard and make sure you are younger than 27 while doing ocs or its too late. good luck
this america ro australia. same thing applies over here. atleast be 27 or younger. but i def wanna be a pilot. im studting hard, and ever since i have ive noticed that i started getting A's rolling in.
I'm taking an ROTC route with the air force, or better yet just getting the 4 year degree in flight n is navigation(wanna fly airliners), but all in all, pilot is very competitive to get
Those of you who say you need a bachelors degree incorrect. You need to be an officer and to be an officer you need a bachelors degree but simply having a degree doesn't mean you are just qualified to fly. Officer training school is required if you didn't go through the academy or rotc. From there you go to flight school and available assignments are based on class rank. So if you can't beat out other students in flight school you will probably end up flying transports.
My brother just graduate from flight school and is going to fly the F/18 and I tried the sim and it was one of the gardest things i have ever done. I crashed.
wtf???? why would you give a shit if its a minor niggle. not my prob if i want to join the raadf, should i spell it out for you? Royal Australian Air Defence Force.
No you do not, but it wouldn't hurt you to do so. Make sure you get your bachelors at an "accredited" college that has an ROTC program within. It help to do some research on finding a college that suits you best and has a runway nearby,..if you know what I mean;) course that's what I did. Good Luck!
you also need a college degree. not sure if you need to be a citizen though.
I was planing on doing the same thing as you from germany, but the need to actually spend another 4 years working towards it and then having just a slight cahnce of actually flying killed it for me :(
this looks so cool. my cousin dan kovalcik is gettin his wings on march 10th. he tells me all about this stuff. its really sweet. although the last thing i want from him is a funeral....
when I was interviewed for the f18, I said that when I flew over an aircraft carrier...I'd just drop my bombs on em...like Id do when I was a kid playing video games...always killin the freindlies.
No... the mask just helps for breathing in case the cockpit somehow has a decompression, and obviously for the microphone... so you don't always have to keep it on.
And yes, you can leave the oxygen off for the whole flight, the cockpit is pressurised. Obviously, they keep it on though, just to make radio comms easier. With the mask off, you can still hear comms, so at cruise you'd leave it off, there's no point to having it on, since you can still respond easily, but not frequently.
yeah, the cockpit is pressurized and oxygenated. he can breath if he takes his mask off. I think it just supplies a steady stream of air, and houses the mic.
You want to give me a free ride along. I got to do this in my life time no matter what it takes. But great video. Nice and clear. Great music as well. Should of asked Maj. Samantha Weeks last week. Doh! Lead solo for the USAF Thunderbirds.
Note to self - keep begging for a ride along in a jet. Maybe one day.
I got good and bad news. The good news is if you hop on the bus you could fly a F-22 Raptor. Bad news, the F/A-18 is in the Navy. And the Navy kicks ass :-p
@VuijkT what kind of college degrees does the airforce look for in aspiring pilots? I'm going to be a junior in highschool and suck lol. Is it too late to make up for my inadequacy?

how much gs is a cat launch
sonicboomer100 2 years ago
6gs but its just for like 2 secs then youre airborne. Just when you fly off the edge it gets ruff then it is 9,5 gs but it is like for half a sec

9.5Gs doubt it, it would over stress the aircraft to the max

i read up on it and first you need to start off flying a F-16 and you need 300 hours of flight time in order to qualify for F-22 flight training.

Never take off oxygen mask- it holds microphone and you never know when you must blast to 20,000 feet so you will need the oxygen!
Top Gun took it off so you could see actor's faces.
