  • @MrSantafe307 The Los Angeles Live Steamers is located in Griffith Park, Los Angeles next door to Travel Town and is open to the general public for train rides on Sundays from 11am-3pm (weather permitting).

  • @AODProds oh my god thank you for telling me :D and um im 13 so would i be able to control the santa fe engine? plz i love santa fe and bnsf so would i be able to or at least be side to the driver?

  • @MrSantafe307 We only allow qualified members to operate our trains and/or fill crew positions onboard. Even then, a club member must be 18 to be eligible to qualify for passenger engineering. I'm sorry, but that's always been our policy.

  • This is awesome!!! It's nice to see what real money can buy these days, these people are doing well!!!

  • Why wasn't that wig-wag working? I remember that being there when I was a kid and it worked great--it was donated by the LA Junction Railway as I remember. Nice looking Santa Fe GP60 by the way--good job of shooting the video.

  • @DaveWVideo It was on static display at the crossing on the Disney Loop until around August 2007 when they moved it to its permanent location next to New Sherwood Station at the pedestrian grade crossing. It's been operating since 2007, but they might have been doing maintenance on it that day since it was not operating.

  • Very cool!

  • @Dinosorable Thank you! :)

  • @AODProds Your welcome.

  • What make is that locomotive?

  • @MackenzieClare It's appearance is modeled after an EMD GP60M, but the locomotive itself was built by a group of club members back in 2004.

  • Very nice video. My father took me to this place several times when I was a child in the early 80's. I'm so glad that it still exists!

  • @gsxr1131 Thanks!

  • Where in LA is this place?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • @TrainTrackTrav It's in Griffith Park, which is close to Burbank.

  • Now thats a hobby, stunning tracks there.

I assume that tunnel is quite short.

  • Thanks. We've got three tunnels here (The Nelson Tunnel, the Disney Tunnel, and the Eppich Tunnel) that go under a horseback riding trail. The tunnels are about 20-30 feet long.

  • As of February 2009, they only have two in service. I think they're going to make more, however, I don't know this as a fact.

  • That good looking Roll Model I was on should have made it in there.

  • Thanks.
