@elnogga That will have probably cost about £10,000. Yes you will be able to train for a PPL with that kind of money but if you think about it. You can spend £10,000 on 45 hours flying and everything else needed for the PPL. But when you want to fly a plane then you will need to hire a plane. This kind of simulator is being debated in flight training and the flight simulator X-Plane is in the process of development where people can build simulators like this and log hours for licences.

ik ben ook bezig met mijn fs2004 te 'upgraden', maar ik heb niet zo veel geld voor een echte cockpit te maken, dus heb ik voor de goedkopere oplossing gekozen, zelf een cockpit maken met buizen en er spullen van Saitek inzetten :) en ik moet zeggen dat ik best tevreden ben over het eindresultaat, maar ik ben toch ook wel jaloers op jouw cockpit hoor..

@tenminless Well to be honest some pilots use simulators to practice maneuvers and who knows if this guy is a pilot or not? If he can afford something like this, it basically almost determines what kind of career he has. and as well as some people have hobbies and try to have fun with it. I'm going to west point academy to study mechanical engineering aeronautical systems and I've used simulators in my past time and its gotten me to know a lot of background information for good use.

@tenminless well if your looking for a nearby academy in the united states, its west point, the tuition or in other terms "the payment" is 0$ as the government pays for it all which is about $500,000. however there are qualifications such as an above average high school G.P.A 9-12th grade. as well as participating in clubs and/or a lot of community services. you can signup for it as well.

@tenminless becuz some ppl don't get the oppurtunity to become a pilot, if have for example diabetes or something.. my dad used to be a pilot but he got diabetes so now he can't fly anymore :( now he's just waiting for me to get a glider license so we can fly together :)
