One fact goes neglected: the comet is too far north to get in between us and the sun, and when it gets closest to us, it will be, again, too far north to do damage. That graph thing that shows it's close enough to hit us, turn it sideways and convert the distance by googling an astro miles (AU) to miles. It will be .234 AU. Go calculate it. Go ahead. Tajectory is more like down to up, not sideways like ours.

NASA recently stated in their own press release, a compilation of Q&As about comet elenin, that they are "not in the business of observing comets, and leave that to amateurs". This was written several weeks AFTER they had been turning Stereo B around to, yes you guessed it, OBSERVE COMET ELENIN!
