@MrChesteraz The blade stop? Or the locking bar? The locking bar isn't a big concern seeing as this wasn't intended to be used hard. But it is alarming how early the lock up is. When I open it sometimes I push on the blade spine to make sure that it's locked fully.
is the damascus stainless damascus? ive been looking into the Take damascus folder but wasnt sure if it would rust with use. Beautiful knives though. i really want one
@wolf5391 Hi, sorry, to be honest I'm not really sure. I just know that it's a VG10 core with nickel damascus...sorry I'm not very helpful. I will say that after a bit of searching a lot of websites advertise the blade as stainless. None of my MCUSTA's have rusted yet, but then again I haven't really been putting them to much use.
@darkchild57 Thanks for the help i dont plan on doing much with mine if i bought more of a collection piece, i just wanted to make sure it would rust. Thanks again
what kind of oil for lubercation is the best for knives, i now somthing called Teflon, dont no if has a outher name outside The Netherlands. But Teflon is good for locks on doors and machines etc, whil this not damge the knife?
@Ni83co I haven't heard of teflon as a lubricant but more as a coating for knives (pots and pans also). I heard people use all kinds of stuff but I know that Tuff Glide is a popular choice. I simply use a bit of WD40 for my pivot points, no need for anything too expensive for my user knives. I know a lot of people use Ballistol, google their website.
great reviuw i got mine today, its gorgous, verry smal do, but its sharp as fuck, and sturdy to, verry nice knife for display, but you can cut things whit it whit ease it came in scharper then mine spyderco chinook 3. The Mcusta akatana is on its way, and iam thinking about bying some more mcustas in the futer wen my bank acount alows it
@Ni83co Thank you and congrats on getting this knife! I have really enjoyed having this in my collection. You're right it's razor sharp! The Katana was the first MCUSTA knife I've ever bought and I still love it!
@wolfie83 MCUSTA makes some very beautiful looking knives and they are razor sharp from factory. My only problem with them is that they may require some lubricating oil after a few openings. I have my eye on the MCUSTA Take with Staminawood handles! Thanks for watching!
@spydercola Thank you:) I'm looking forward to purchasing more MCUSTA knives in the future. I love their designs. Lot of their models have that "custom" feeling and look without the hefty price tag! Thanks for watching:)
@spydercola Cool! I absolutely love this knife, it's a very elegant design. You have a better lockup? Here I thought MUSTA is machined to perfection and computer designed. So there are variances. Thank you for watching!
@oromoto LOL! Yeah I don't really have any traditional Japanese style dress. Or any thing that remotely resembles it:) But the pouch is beautifully crafted in itself.
@nycdave212 MCUSTA makes some very nice custom looking production knives for sure! I want more now:) What I love is most of their knives sell for about the same price as Benchmades and higher end Spydercos but they just look exquisite. I have plenty of tactical blades I want to beef up my gentleman folder collection.
That liner lock is just like the one on the Lum that I have..very very early...hah and yes I picked one up! Will overview it hopefully within the week. Bought it for a collectors piece.
@ZippoThisKnifeThat Yes I agree with you, the lock is very shallow. But I've tried to force it to fail and it hasn't yet. I didn't do that "spine whacking" test. But I'm not going to be stabbing at all with this knife so it's not a high priority. Congrats on your new purchase! I have a BM 760BK LFTi lined up for order from my favorite dealer. I'm excited to get my hands on that next!
this blade stop doesn't go over far enough. I had one like that too. I think it is a defect with Mcusta

@Ni83co WD40 does not have the properties of a lubricant.
