  • Chip get the FUCK out of ryans seat haha

  • Haha Love Chip's hair. 1:20 My favorite part!! ♥♥♥♥

  • Ryan seems so out of place with his humor and these stiffs

  • OH MY GOD. IT'S YOUNG CHIP. HIS HAIR XD

  • 1:21 click over and over and over and overrr

  • Chip and Ryan... They're soooo young!

  • Ryan saved the whole thing

  • Is it just me or did anyone else wonder why does the UK version have an Uncle Sam hat?

  • That's not Colin, It's Chip lol

  • @Drockvashon my exact words

  • ryan was in both versions?

  • @14chrismak yes, so did Colin !

  • Oh my god look at chip!!!!

  • @JayBird4theW1N dam...that is chip isn't it?

  • @qualcom01 Yeah! He looks so... DIFFERENT! How did he get hotter with the passage of time?

  • ryan and chip had hair!! o.O

  • so those are the crappy suggestions that Drew is always talking about...

but the comedians did the best they could with them, lol.

  • this show is fuckin classic!

  • I miss WAYNE!!!!!!!!!

  • i think the US is better due to having a time advantage. it had more room to build off of what was a starting show. as well as with time humor changes, we've moved more towards a crude sarcastic comedy nowadays. i like US better b/c i personally like the jokes more, and i think there's a wider variety of jokes.

  • US is better

  • lol both american and UK are just freakin hilarious xD

  • Lol...these are terrible.

  • I grew up watching the UK version on this show... And its very difficult to say which is better. I think I like the US version better, just because I fucking love Colin and Ryan and they were there every single episode... so... can't really go wrong. The UK version had Ryan and Colin as well... just not as often as the US.

  • I'm at the wrong convention LOL

  • They are all sooo young! Ryan is so handsome.....

  • These aren't that great (the suggestions are kinda rubbish), but that "Wha-wha...oh I'm at the wrong convention, I'm sorry" cracks me up everytime!

  • @stnic07 Leave it to Ryan Stiles to turn a rather bland scene suggestion into something you still get a good laugh from.

  • "Hey! Not bad!"

*swings huge gigantor penis over shoulder*

  • AAAAHAHA .. 1:47 LOOK at chips face!!

he is shocked before he can even think of something to say...

    priceless

  • I don't even recognize Chip here.

  • Holly Hell..Chip was soooo...well...young

  • thats a good costner not bad

  • clive seriously has no sense of humor like drew carey

  • What's up with Ryan's shirt?

Are those like... slits in the sleeves?

    xD

  • ryan seems kind of miserable...

  • Holy crap , thats chip ?! .. He just got hotter

  • lmao at the cheese convention

  • mog mog mog mog mogogog mog mog.

  • Woah, that's Chip?!

  • OMG THAT'S CHIP LOL. He and Ryan are so young!

  • UK version is terrible!

  • @a7machine It's older, so it's less refined. The US version started out at the same level, but improved over time. Look at dating service video. The first season had very simple things, by the end it was super crazy shit.

  • @madpaintbalerx

Yeah but in many ways the US show went more commercial. Not that Im complaining, just noticing.

They tend to make things easier & play to their strenghts more: People have set roles in sketches, Ryan comes last in the songs (to give him time), the good singers sing more than the others, scenes from a hat runs for more than just one single "sketch" per note, there are fewer games etc.

In many ways the UK show is more true to pure improv and puts them on the spot more.

  • @alin1975 Yeah exactly, the UK version is more true to its roots of theatre sports.

  • OMG! Ryan & Chip! Look how Young they are!!! ♥♥♥

  • re: the UK vs the US versions.....does it matter?!?! they're both funny as hell!

  • The suggestions in the US version is much better than these.

  • dry this one... ):

  • Chip looks so young here! Gotta love the yellow turtleneck and checkered socks!

  • @eepruls

    that's some serious early 90's goodness, isn't it? ;)

  • THIS SUCKS compared to the original! I feel sorry for Ryan for having to play with these dodo brains!

  • @claytonic21 This IS the original.

  • @TheAlmighyShia you're right i just never knew they had this before the america one but still these guys suck as well as the host!

  • @claytonic21 Suck how? Its just as good, if not better because the UK was able to do a lot of things the US could never dream of doing.

  • @TheAlmighyShia foe me it is the people these guys are just not funny and definitely do not have chemistry like ryan, collin, wayne and either chip brad or greg

  • @claytonic21 If I'm not mistaken, the UK was not a comedy show, it was just improv. If it was funny, great, if not, that was ok to. Also there is a lot of British humor which some people don't find funny. Also I personally find Clive funny, him and Greg's back and forth banter was better then anything between Drew and Ryan.

Some games in the US were not funny at all because it just didn't work, some were hilarious. Same thing with the UK version. Just depends.

  • @TheAlmighyShia not to mention drew carrey worked well with them and he laughed and made the show enjoyable

  • Can I drink what Chip's been drinking? The man does not age.

  • Chip's face at 1:54 is like "how will I get this image out of my head?!"

  • it is better with drew and collin not this crap

  • Colin's got hair, and Ryan looks so young wow

  • OMGosh Colin, and Ryan ain't together!!!!

  • i can't beileve that's chip!

  • Man, I didn't even recognize him! Avery young Chip Easton!!

  • I liked the Jimmy Stewart convention, but this show was pretty bad until Collin Mochrie appeared.

  • Win

  • Clive Anderson is god!!!

  • These are so lame...

But hardly surprising given the dreadful subjects.

  • I no likey british dude. I likey Drew Carey.. He funny =]

  • CHIP(;

  • is this considered funny in england?

  • @sultanofsick

It is an acquired taste. For the record, I never thought that the Scenes from a Hat were funny in the UK eps until the later seasons.

  • @sultanofsick

yes thats why ppl are lauging

  • England is the only place where this would be funny

  • @Deathmaker2354 lol i know

  • I agree. It's a good question.

  • Wow, Chip was real young in this one. He's always been very talented.

  • America's is WAY better, Ryan is the funniest, like usual...

  • Even here, Ryan is still the funniest xD

Chip looks like a mix between Jim Carey and Jared Leto.

  • i like the american SFAH better as they can come up with multiple scenes

  • THAT'S Chip? He's got a lot of hair!

  • Two men comparing each other at the urinal...oh PLEASE!!!

  • "wa waa waa wa...oh, im at the wrong convention." lmao! chip and ryan are so young! :D

  • heh the american hat was funny

  • Clive never shuts the fuck up

  • lmao! I love ryan! and chip ;)

  • The Jimmy Stewart thing is funny. lol

  • stop it with the uk/us is better- they're the same! Ryan started out here as well! I love both versions because of Ryan!

  • that guy in the blue shirt has the biggest ass i have ever seen on a man... haha

  • That is what I was thinking. xD

@video - Meh, not as funny as the american ones - I even get the British humor, but still not as funny.

  • OMG chip and ryan??!!!

  • Haha! I love Kevin Costner!

  • The main reason why the American version is better is that many of the jokes and skits involved the host, Drew Carey, and members of the audience too.

  • there are also jokes about clive about his neck that you never see

  • I disagree with both the "US is better" and "UK is better" groups. I think they're a little too different to compare, the british style of humor is much more pun driven for a start.

Which you think is better will entirely depend on your sense of humor, consequently neither one is actually better than the other.

  • @PepperPhoenix You sir just brought up the best end to an argument in YouTube comment history! THANK YOU!

  • @PepperPhoenix I agree with you! I love both versions. I love both styles of comedy. I find British humor to be very funny and witty and I find American humor to be silly and slapstick which is good too! :D

  • @PepperPhoenix Well of course. Everything is relative, but I can still say the US version is much better. It's called an opinion.

  • @PepperPhoenix ryan has waaay more funny puns than anyone else.. i think why no one can stand the british version is because of clive, and that annoying buzzer. also, there's no chemistry between them all.

  • @PepperPhoenix nahh US version is better....

  • This version sucks!!!!!!!!!!!I love it A thousand times better with drew, colin, wayne, and brad.=(

  • You would think they would have a hat with the british flag.

  • no cause series 3 and 4 was filmed in america for some reason?

  • RYAN??? he belongs in the American whose line!!

  • Most of the American whose line cast came from the UK version (Chip, Colin, Ryan, and Greg_

  • Considering he started out in the British Whose Line, I would say not.

  • Ryan STARTED his acting career here.

  • Wow I didn't recognize Chip at first.

  • i didnt either

  • The American one is like 552309578902375072305723057230957302 times better

  • I AGREE!

  • reply to Trevguy00: it's cause the UKs version of humor is a little dryer :P

(I mean, can't you just feel it!)

  • chip looked weird look at this socks he looks better when older in usa version

  • i agree - Chip aged really well.

  • Just like wine and cheese

  • I know some of the UK episodes were filmed in Los Angeles. Is this one of them?

  • No. This episode was filmed in New York.

  • Oh, thanks.

  • @UofLCardFan08 Those are the ones that are on the same set as the US whose line, aren't they?

  • Although I love the US version the best, I cannot deny the UK version has it's own wonderful charm. Both are totally worth watching.

  • Chip looks way different! but he has awesome socks

  • Wth r u talking about. the only english thing is clive, the comics are american and the audience are american coz it was done for bbc america

  • BBC America didn't exist when this was filmed.

    Just so you know.

  • Alright. dont get arsy. but in the clip he duz say about america but hey.

i prefer the british version but my mom used to own practically every single episode on vhs before dvd and it was all i watched, which might be the same with u and the us version

  • OMG is that chip???? so cute!!

  • The Jimmy Stewart Convention made me laugh a little too hard.

  • Clive has a very good sense of humour, but it is more subtle than Drew's. Don't get me wrong, I prefer the US version (and I prefer Drew as a host) but Clive came with some awesome remarks over the years. Like the one above, when they said Ryan (as a baby) looks like a "Clive", and he remarks quietly "theres a reason for that". Its a great one liner really.

The reason I prefer the US one is because they polished the games. Scenes from a hat works better when there isnt just one round per scene.

  • The games in the UK showed more the theatrical performing part of the comedy. In the US, the games are more gag-style comedy.

There's a reason for that; US people prefer stand-up style short gags and jokes, and UK people prefer a good comedic, continuous story.

Both shows, in my opinion, are impressive; US version makes me laugh really hard, and UK version amazes me by the quality of the performers' interpretations.

And I agree in that Clive is really intelligent and funny.

  • Where is the continuity in this version?? I'm not biased but i prefer the American version, I consider it way better.

  • I was talking about the continuity in each story. Obviously scenes from a hat is a game with no continuity, because that's how it is.

  • I didn't see more continuity in this version than in the American one and I've watched a couple of the UK version. Well that was your major point of argument and I just pointed out that i don't think it has more continuity than the other version.

  • ?

It was not an argument, I was just expressing my opinion. Which hasn't changed, as probably won't yours.

  • Two men comparing each other at the urinal.

    Very Funny.

  • I swear down that 1:13 to 1:23 is the funniest whose line moment ever, maybe not exactly but that was absolutely fuckin hilarious

  • Ryan is a legend!

  • Ryan was amazing :)

    xx

  • damn ryan is young here

  • The guy in the blue shirt with long hair has a funny ass body shape.

  • Yeah, like a goose

  • Meskimen is now voicing JibJab cartoons.

  • Two men comparing each other at the urinal.

    Very Funny.

  • ROFL LOOKAT CHIP

  • duuuuuude thats not the same chip as the one on the US whose line is it?? haha he never wears suits.

  • haha remember, this was in the day of mullets. if you think about it, hardly anyone on the us version wore a suit, execpt for greg proops and jeff davis. and drew of course. he doesnt count though haha.

  • thats coz its clive anderson

  • Chip looks so much hotter here than in the US, his hair is soo hot there, he souldnt of had a hair cut!!

  • Wow...who's that fox to Clive's left (our right)? Dang....

  • chip is soo..hot!

  • Two men comparing each other at the urinal.

    Very Funny.

  • MAN Ryan is AWSOME!! I so love him. Him and Colin are my favourites lol. Greg and Tony are wicked too lol

  • I love Jeff Davis and Brad Sherwood, especially when they are in a scene together (greenscreen show). Jeff offers a fresh style of comedy (although Colin and Ryan definitely lead in terms of experience), and Brad is so creative too (and he has a good memory).

  • well he looks like a GeeThAnG1990

  • omg, i would marry these guys just to have them make me laugh all day! i'de get a six pack in a week!

  • Lol XD

  • Hopefully, an eight pack.
