why in my mario doesnt appear the second plant?

been playing this darn game for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours and i only just got to level 3-4

On 1-1 you can do the 1-up trick and if you're on the wii VC version it glitches and gives you a castle top block and a colored square........... It's very weird. I got to 4-4 until I lost all of my glitched lives..... Then I had to go back to 4-1 :(

This type of "puzzles" are bullshit, annoying as hell, not fun at all, and not a true way to make a game hard, those things are bullshit (in both Mario 1 and 2), I've already beaten this game many times, but I didn't fucking remember the order. So, thanks to the poster for the help!

im playing the virtual console version on the wii & it looks nothing like that cuz mine uses the smb engine but yours uses the smb3 engine

That explains it -- the Virtual Console version is based off the original Famicom Disk System version, which is basically like an NES in that it's 8-bit, but was only available in Japan. The SNES port, unlike the Wii port, revamped the graphics and sound of this game (as well as the other three SMB games).
