  • @lilleeza0105 I know a girl who can hyperextend and she can still put her heels together. Even if you are hyperextended, you need to be able to put your heels together or it just looks terrible

  • Please look at the video of me doing plies, i really want to improve xxx

  • question on plies

when you bend, don't your knees hurt, like in lunges or squats?

  • @eda5936 what do you mean ? everyone can bend their knees ... what's hard is the turnout (= action to rotate legs : the feet are not parallel) but it doesnt hurt to bend no

  • @FyreBalletDancer

    thanks

  • @eda5936

Not really. Your thighs may feel the burn after a while, but the act of bending in and of itself doesn't hurt.

  • @eda5936 In ballet pressure/resistance is used in plies:- press out as if pushing thru' hard treacle on the way down;squeeze inner thighs as if trying to crush a lump of granite that's stuck between the thighs on the way up! Not very elegant images, but that's how strength in lower half builds up. Ballerinas can't take shortcuts & do thigh-building gym exercise - imagine Odile/Odette with thighs like a weightlifter! Only small children do simple knee bends for a while, then real work must start!

  • They are so good! ... Except at 0:52 the girl in front had her heels away from each other

  • @taw210 Well she can't put her heels together. Since her legs are hyper extended she can only put her thighs together.

  • Beautifull work... Brazil....

    : )

  • It is the best school from what is available on you tube

Are there any videos of SAB or Boston ballet school...?

  • lol the beginning "la la laaa"

  • i thought my plies were good until i saw theirs lol

  • China pushes very hard in Arts, Sports and Academic studies. They are very serious in whatever they do. Beautiful teqnique. GO ASIANS!

  • @balletlin so many people say that. and some of my asian friends would show off to that. but in reality if u live ur life being so serious in watever u do thats great, but just dont get carried away. try to E N J O Y

  • wow they are hot, how old are they.. very sexy..

  • @frankiedukee at the :20 mark when they are spreading their legs, I want to kick them as hard as I can several times and then I want to inpregnate each and every one of them over the course of a week

  • @frankiedukee who cares how old they are.. They are ready to be plucked, but good

  • This seems to robotic. No emotion, no passion...

  • @Hushpuppygirl it's plies! It's only barre work. Their technique is incredible.

  • @balletgurl10 Their technique is amazing, and maybe robotic was not the right word. Even though these are just barre exercises, Even with the grace that shows through their wonderful technique without the passion performances would be very cold.

  • malditas jajaja

    como le hacennn?/???

  • engles, por favor?

  • the girl right in front hyper extends her legs soo much

  • They are so conditioned and disciplined

  • how do they bend their backs so much. They are like rubber!

  • @kiki900400 As we all know Chinese women spend a great deal of time on their backs, if you get my drift.

  • @dancer5t6 that sounds like a racist comment to me, you should be ashamed.

  • iam spamming that bitch even though iam american she does sound madd racist

  • dont be so jellin, and btw go to hell u stinky american

  • although they are very talented, their extension and movement is so extremely mechanical. It doesnt seem like classical graceful ballet

  • True hyperextension is very desireable and very appealing to the eye however it is hard on the joints and ligaments. It can be controlled with proper instruction but if its being forced then your dance career wont last very long.

  • i have natural hyperextension. does this mean i shouldnt use it? i didnt know it was hard on the joints ;(

  • These videos are not displayed in correct aspect ration on youtube. It exaggerates the thinness and long legs of these girls. Yes, they're thin, but not that thin.

  • they really are that thin :o i went to shanghai dance academy this summer and watched the dancers in person

  • they are all very out of time with each other...

  • eeeeeeeee

    aaaaaaa

    sssssssssaaaaaaaa

    seeeeeeeerrrrrrr

     XD

  • Some of these girls are hyper extending their knees let alone forcing their turn out. Their knees are torquing very badly and their pelvis is tilting. Other than that they are alright.

  • i agree

  • Hyperextension is not something you can control, and it's very desireable in the world of ballet.

  • their teqnique is flawlesss how old are they?

  • Comment removed

  • yeah really? id like to see YOU do that!

  • they r sooo perfect

  • I know, I wish I could dance like that. Do you know if they have any videos of younger girls?

  • no, your heels aren't supposed to leave the floor in any demi plie. only grande

  • Looks like heavily Vaganova influenced from the forcing of the turnout at the feet. They are good; but being a dancer and teacher, I tend to be critical. Would like to see better coordination between the legs and arms.

  • To all of those exaggeratingly complaining about their weight, let me ask you: have you ever seen an overweight ballerina? Of course not. And we know Asian girls have a tendency to be thin, so get over it. They are healthy and lovely.

  • that was amazing!!

  • This video is straight. Yall need to check out Vthov's music though if you haven't... He lays down pure fire. Search "Vthov Obama Inauguration Song" and you'll see what I'm talking about. He's the truth.

  • are the heals supposed to leave the floor in demi plie fourth?

  • Comment removed

  • Yes.

  • estan muy delgadaaz

yo practico ballet y no estoy tan flaaacaa o_o

  • Their 1st positions are closing on thier knees, not heels! (see the gap!)

  • lol ii was thinkin the same thing.

    they're like graceful little sticks.

  • I agree, they're very thin. the turn out is sick by the way. hey, 1st posotion - a straight line? hmf..

  • they are thin O.o

  • I dont like vaganova style everything is to turned out. this damaging for the body.

  • HELLO! ballet is TURNED OUT. first position is a STRAIT LINE. if at an audition you don't have a full turn out, your gone! its the first thing they look for!

a dancer is always TURNED OUT and on balance. SECOND PRINCIPLE OF CLASSICAL BALLET, idiot!

  • IDIOT, YOU CAN SAY THAT TO YOUR MOM.

i sad that to much turn out is damaging for the body (knees).

  • NO IT's NOT. seriously, have you ever heard of technique? technique is here for two reasons- to keep you SAFE and to make you look beautiful.

turn out is only damaging to the knees when they are not aligned with your feet. the legs must be aligned with the foot to prevent damage. TECHNIQUE. GET THAT IN YOUR BRAIN. thats why strong technical dancers don't get injured. example: Margot Fontaynne. she still danced when she was 50!

yeah, so you are an idiot. times 10.

  • If you don't have natural turnout and it's forced into 180 degree rotation, yeah, it can damage the body, but when they accept people into the academy, they watch so that the students have ideal natural turnout, natural flexibility, slender body, loose joints, good arches and presence. This makes it easier to work with them, because they've got ideal everything.

  • Vaganova does not hurt you anymore than any other will.

In fact, Vaganova makes you stronger than many other methods.

  • I can spell plié!!!

  • What style do these girls learn?

  • the extensions, flexible back, skinny-ness, technique...

    vaganova ballet academy much?

  • Do the dancers live with their families or

do they live together in a dance school that

gives them lodging, food and schooling as well? What opportunities do they have in China if they turn pro or are principal dancers?

  • They usually live in the school. They can join ballet companies.

  • How do they pay for their lessons and do they get paid a lot when they become professional dancers?

  • Their families pay for the lessons and yes, their salary is decent if they turn pro.

  • @littlechristina

wait, what do you mean??? schools are free in China

  • @filmfelineadmin

some schools yes :) but schools like this-like, ballet schools/academies aren't, because they're specialist and most probably boarding schools too

    x

  • lol at 0:05 the person was all like lalala! ok back to what the video is really about. They are excellent dancers everything they do is so brilliant and just perfect! I wish i was like them!

  • well i just hope their knees are going in the right places {:]

  • WOW u guys are all faggots!

your just jelous that u cant to that so u have to critic things that dont even matter! they are absolutly amazing dancers, exellent teqnique

  • their technique is great but i cant stand to see how bad some of their hyper-extention is. Their teacher needs to correct that, its not helpful for a dancer to have hyperextended knees, it looks amazing but if you want to be able to walk for a long time it should be corrected

  • they all look the same :D but they are still wonderful!

  • wow!!!!!!!!nice Demi-plie!!!!!!!!!!Any,i learn ballet in nafa campus...i m a mordern ballerina!

  • Does anyone know the tittle of the music please?

  • Qué envidia! Igualmente a las asiáticas las tratan muy mal para que puedan hacer eso. Creo que también las maltratan físicamente.

  • i this that theese girls are almost perfect....they could be so close to perfect if they had love and passion for ballet also i believe is that to be perfect you must me un perfect and perfect at the same time

  • Don't we all wish we could be thinner?

gosh its so hard though, but no pain- no gain i guess.

  • omg their turnout is astounding and they all have "teardrop toes" or like perfect point.

    ughhh jealous much!

i so wish i could be that thin.

  • I'm jealous too... they are perfect !! OOOH They are so fat !!!! *Smile*

  • i hate the word perfect. and dancers shouldnt believe in it. irina baronova always says dont let your head get to big for your hat. by calling someone perfect you are allowing tat to happen. i am not taking a stab at you, i promise! just something to think about! :)

  • I'm insanely jealous of their first positions.

  • What first positions??? Their heels are not together, meaning its not even a correct position!!!!!!

  • Their legs are hyperextended, in first position it means that your heels can't touch, but the knees touch and they have nice straightened legs. Please don't be harsh when you don't know. Do you really think you know better than the teachers at such a good school?

  • yes, but it makes it easier for the men to lift them instead of lifting hefty's.

  • They are asiatics, they aren't anorexic :p

  • Asians naturally have smaller body frames in general compared to Caucasians, so they're healthy sizes, actually according to the Asian size chart.

  • actually, these girls are strong, the reason why theyre legs arent so big is because theyre using theyre inner thigh muscles

the "correct" way to hold their turn out, extensions etc..

if you look at all the great ballerinas their

legs are tone but not as big as modern dancers..

if a ballerina has big quade muscles than thats evident that she's using her quades, and muscleing her way through things... the inner thigh turn out muscles take and great technique time to develop..

  • Yeah, good job. I'm going to do this for exercise instead of squats. You inspired me.

  • From the description 2 of them have gone on to be professional dancers in highly respected dance companies (I'm sure many others in this video have as well). I'm wondering if the critics can say that much for themselves... ;op I think they look like soldiers! Beautiful, highly trained ballet soldiers! Gorgeous!

  • technically, prettttty good! but im seen much more endulgent plies before! and im pretty sure i saw a few heels popping off the ground!!!!

  • That's not a mistake! Don't judge everyone by what your teacher says. You just *have* to find something to critisize, don't you?

  • The heels are pooping off the ground as a reslt of the pelvis tilting forward, meaning they cannot fully access thier turn out, rotation, range and their hamstrings. This error will make centre practice difficult for them.

  • they all have 180 degree turnouts...im jealous

  • starei a guardarle per ore

  • they r sooo perfect

  • gosh ! amazing. they make them look so easy !

  • They all have such beautiful legs. And the expression they show using their arms and necks is astounding. Gorgeous! :)

  • All of the girls have very good epaulement

  • I saw a lot of bums sticking out (or so it definitely seemed) and consistently late arms (maybe it's just a style difference, but we're told to straighten our knees and bring the arms to second at the same time) as well as a teeny bit of rolling in on the front foot, but otherwise the dancing is quite graceful and beautiful.

  • gawd are you a perfectionist or what?? i mean your obvousliy a dancer yourself but you really should appreitate talent when you see it and these girls have a lot of talent!!! they are really brilliant and are gonna make the big stage whether they are straightening their knees at the same time as their arms going to second or not!!!

  • Wowzazz. That was amazing. They're so pretty too.

  • The green framing of this video is hilareous but distracting. All are lovely dances.

  • omg! at 0:40 look at the girl in the front! her calf muscles are like the size of apples!!!

  • OMFG THAT IS SUCH A BAD COMMENT! why would you post that!.....

  • Huh? My comment did you mean? Because I would kill for hyper-extended legs...

  • They are amazing! Most of them have hyper-extended legs too...

  • i know! and pretty good arches.. grr i'm jealous!!

  • look my piruettes

    watch_?v=_HoWEJ0NEazk

  • just one thing - they sat back on their heels in the flat back, but other than that, their turnout is amazing and their arches in their feet are heavenly.

  • huh? don't get it. I just hear the teacher.

  • i love how one of them is a little heavier than the others and she still looks beautiful.

  • omg they r amazin wish i cd dance like them!!!!!!!

  • geez, turnout much?

amaaaaaazing technique. i just think the one on the left kinda arches her back when she pulls up.

  • wow the girl at the front has a great arche

  • OMG. These videos freak me out. I can hear the teacher from one speaker and someone else on the video from another! What is wrong with my computer?!

  • it spooked me too

  • Yea me too. I was sitting there watching it then suddenly I was hearing something from the otherside. A bit weird...but they girls are great and their turnout is unreal!

  • Hm, nice, they look pretty in those leotards. I noticed that most of them are hyper extended and they do not close their firsts tightly.but their turnouts are so extreme though, I'm jealous!

  • If you're hyperextended you're supposed to leave a slight space between your feet in first. If they were to put their heels together the knees would be bent

  • very good dancers...I love their leotards. (their teacher sounds funny)

  • I'm sure your teacher might sound funny to them.

  • Good point!
