  • Ewan McGregor had the same problem on his GS1200 in long way round, just take out the plugs and crank it over a few times, the rest will just evaporate :)

  • Sven, one of the few people in the world with the equipment to find a sat nav submerged in water and mud, out on a trail, in the pitch black darkness of the night.

  • it wasnt seized, it was hydrolocked!

  • 1:11 mmm refreshing dip

  • Ah, you're a good man Sven :)

  • Its funny. I hardly see puddles like that down here in New Zealand but they do exist. I nearly drowned my RM 125 in one.

Also, are those public roads or something?

  • @HotForgeChaos yep these are public roads.

  • water locked the engine

  • Good to know the GPS is a good one.

  • Hahahah lots of fun man...

  • Good man for getting his satnav back 10*

  • Good reason to idiot string kit like that to your bike

  • This is why everyone should own night vision goggles.

  • Good man for going back and rescuing the satnav, the offroad gods will look kindly apon you. (Well, except for the broken leg thing, so I suppose the off road gods had it in for you for past deeds at one point B-).)

I had my 225TX (Serow?) out last weekend in the snow.

Getting a bit stir crazy her eon this side of the pond, I'm ready to ride....

  • ow..that is a yamaha serow 225

  • Flipper on cr 125 big crash .... check this one out if ya get a chance 5***

  • you must REALLY have some money..... all these flash gadgets.....

what do you do as a job??

or u jus win the lottery lol

  • GPS..Night Vision...Metal Detectors...All very well, but what you need is a pair of Welly Boots ; ) Good effort finding the GPS though!

  • eeeeee your a gooden

  • Wow looks like a ton-o-fun! Too bad for the seized up engine though.

  • i live prob 15 mins ride to these marshes lol. looks good fun

  • plenty of cameras, nightvision, a few metal detectors... you do like technical toys? :D

  • lol you always laugh at ur friends misfortunes.

  • nice save.. on both the bike and satnav!!!!

  • those mw2 night vision goggles?

  • Dunno the make

  • dont ever hit the start button after drowning your bike.... u can do serious damage to the internals.

  • What would you have him do? Never start the bike again? Push it the 40 miles home?

  • First drain the carb fuel-bowl.

Then pull the plug and drain the combustion-chamber good (up side down).

If your not TOO far from your car.... then have one of your buddies go back and get some oil, for an oil change, coz the water would have also entered throught the crankcase and head breather hoses.

Of course this procedure isnt as important if the bike was drowned in relatively clean water i.e. a nice river crossing.

  • If we did this everytime the bike goes over in a puddle we'd never ride.

(Latest video there's two further drops, this doesn't include the millions i don't upload)

Great in principle, in the real world however not practicle.

  • not every time it goes over.... just any time the motor gets flooded (hydraulic lock).

I dont understand the fun in going through big muddy puddles and wrecking your bike.

  • How would you establish it's hydrolocked or not without trying to start it.

I thoroughly enjoy river crossings and the like.

There's no way around them, it's either through them or don't ride.

  • I said, dont hit the (electric) START BUTTON.

First try turning the motor over slowely with the KICK starter.

  • @svengalie where did you get the night vision googles sven??

  • @stealth1692 a "spy" shop in the centre of London. They're military grade. £3,000.

I'm selling them if you're interested.

  • @svengalie depends how much are you selling them for???

  • @svengalie 3rd gen military spec ones still fetch four figures on ebay...

  • sven being nice... NICE!!! now thats a rare sight...

try riding with night vision goggles on... idid it on the sand...its really wierd.

  • Was it a sheep???

"I've hit something in this puddle!" ... "Baaaaa"

  • Awesome stuff, want an offroad bike SO BAD!

  • thats what mates are for ;-)

  • Sven, your a legend..... Thanks for finding my Sat Nav.... What a great day out.

  • you managed to get sven to be NICE!! :O i think your the legend... hes just a mean bastard to me.

  • Don't use wd40 on the wheel on the satnav... use electrican contact cleaner.

wd40 will leave a horrible layer of smeary shit on it that wont come off.

  • Lucky save!

And nightvision is ftw! My mate had a set of ex military ones a few years ago but it cost him a pretty penny.

hard to get used to though. Like looking through two bog rolls.

  • Well not everybody would have got theyr feet wet for that. 5* for you m8

  • Pull the plug out & get the water out of the cylinder.

  • An act of random kindness makes all the difference doesn't it?

  • What dirt bike is it you ride? From the colour I'm guessing a KTM? Like a KTM 625 SMC or the 650 version? I've been thinking about a dirtbike for a bit of greenlaning and a better, tougher mode of transport so I don't have to ruin my sports bike and I've been looking at the KTM's at the moment.

  • Its KTM. He shows you which bike it is in one of his earlier videos of him off roading. Im thinking a 400.

  • Hehe, i've been thinking of doing that myself, Suzuki DRZ400 myself, but i'm just gonna finish off my Pilot Sports, and whack some Roadsmarts on it. Sven's got a KTM 450EXC, Dan(Danmoto73)'s got one too.

  • I WANNA DO THAT!!

  • quite awesome u found the sat nav sven

  • Next time your bike swallows water just remove the sparkplug and kick it several times, clean the plug screw it back in, and go.

  • How do you get your POV 1.5 footage into HD?

What editting software do you use?

  • fun ride as usual

  • What is the light on your helmet ?

  • thats amazing it still works

  • I really miss that kind of riding..

That is true motorcycle riding in my eyes !

  • Another great vid

  • your a star to cool

  • lmao made me laugh when you were raking around in that puddle in the pitch black.

  • look at that UFO from about 5:48 onwards, i think we have proof of aliens!

  • I love the off road videos, there's guaranteed someone falling off... usually you!

I was tempted to buy CCM 230e to have a go but hardly any B.O.A.Ts in Dorset, so are all the tracks BOATs near you?

Apparently you get nicked very quickly round here if off roading in the wrong area.

  • Goto your local trf meeting. A quick search and I found ~25 in a very small area....

  • You've got night vision goggles?! Could you make a video on them? Where you got them, how much they were, the others on offer. I really want to get some, in fact me and my mates were saying we should all get a pair and go night time paintballing, how intense would that be, in like a pitch black forrest or somthing. And as if the sat nav still worked! Another great vid :-)

  • That'd be difficult, I brought them for night offroading but they don't auto focus (and these are the expensive one!)

  • The effort was well worth it, to get your friend's response! Garmin should pay you for the field test! Btw. I have seen the stars with night vision out on the sea, and it is breattaking.

  • It's a great excuse for a party. : D

  • Brilliant mate. You're the sort of friend that there should be more of.

My nephew drowned his bike once but didn't know to undo the plug. After almost flattening the battery trying to start it, it cost him several hundred dollars in repairs!

  • "I've never seen it that wet" THATS WHAT SHE SAID!

  • Truly awesome vid Sven! Offroading, metal detecting, night vision, what more could i want in a vid! :D

  • Wow it still works! BTW what is the model of the gps? :)

  • Wow, you're a great friend to have.

Also, do I smell a Sven gold prospecting off-road adventure series coming up? =P

  • I know what you mean about the stars at night. It's amazing what you can see at night when you're eyes don't get all messed up by the light pollution so prevalent at night these days.

  • you need a simpler tag method.

  • Fair play dude .. Although we all know u just jumped at the chance to play with ur night vision goggles lol

  • Hah. That was great. And good on you for mud diving finding the satnav. Your mate sounded thankful. I would be, too.

  • england is muddy for real

  • Sven, you are truly an awesome friend. I don't think any of my "friends" here would do that for me. Well done.

  • Yes he is, I don't think any of my friends would do that for me.

  • u shouldnt turn on any electronics when theyre wet

    let em dry first

  • that is one hell of a nice thing to do for a friend, great stuff

  • Sven are you all healed up now then?

good of you to go out and find that satnav aswel

  • Hydro-locked, plug out, new air filter and hopefully your con-rods not bent!!

  • sven = cool

  • wow you could splice all that up into an advert and sell it to garmin :P

and i thought there products sucked :D

    GJ on getting it back

  • Haha its a mix of splintercell and The Blair Witch Project ! hehe nice one!

  • Holy crap Sven, good going!

  • nice that you found the GPS! I hate riding in mud.

  • If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire... Svengalie! ...Get ready for a big surprise!

  • amazing how it still works... indestructable

  • Hydrolock?

  • wow, splinter cell stuff here. top man

  • haha ur a legend Sven!

  • Nice one mate

  • That is nothing short of amazing ... finding that little thing in the dark, and lying at the bottom of a mud puddle to boot! Kinda like a Special Ops mission. Well done. Hope your friend is suitably impressed!

You could probably sell that footage to Garmin for use in an advert. :)

  • sven gone spec ops

  • Um, what he did lost?

  • Wow Sven, you have every gadget under the sun!

    Nice going!

  • good video (nothing to debate)

  • The real stroke of genius was marking the waypoint.

That's the part I would have screwed up and missed.

    Great work for a friend.

  • Classic Sven. I like the night-vision, but I love the laughter.

  • Happy his bike is all good poor guy must of thought his bike was good as gone. Nice one for going back out and finding his satnav too!

  • 09 bike too! I felt SOOOOOOOOOO bad.

  • I would've felt like crap myself to be honest, least it's ok now and you even made it up to him by getting soaked in the dark and getting back his satnav :D

  • Sven.. Sven. .:P awesome! =)

  • Well done sir..! 5* for the wet feet effort.

Has to be the best product endorsement I've seen in a long time.

  • Indeed, there's waterproof then there's in a muddy cold puddle for 24 hours being run over by 4x4s and stood on by cows....

  • Didn't the nightvision cost a large sum of money, cheapest I've seen were 250 quid?

  • I wouldn't like to comment in case my wife is watching.

But they're 2nd generation kit. EXPENSIVE but sooooo cool.

  • haha belta sven keep them coming

    - sheep

  • Ey sven, nice job finding that gps!

Did you btw get my youtube PM ?

  • I get so much mail :( What was it?

  • @svengalie Link to the that intro I was fantasizing about earlier :) Seems i can't post the URL in the Comments here :(

  • lol how the feck does that work?

Loving the spec ops goggles! I'll remember to keep my curtains pulled where i sleep ;)

  • military spec goggles. Top of the line shit, very very good.

  • maybe because your gay or u r a girl

  • or maybe because I think it doesn't even look like fun.... way to be grown up and mature...

  • ha seriously, this is nothing. You should see the rest of the trail.

Well hopefully you will, I've got a suprise for you chaps tomorrow.

Anyway this is why he did it under duress.

Later the trail is a lake, quite literally.

  • Lol that was fun and games :P good to see that camera rollin still sven!
