... not even a proper princess carry (yes... that is a technical term.) Your pinky and the pad of your thumb (connected to the palm) form the base platform for the top plate. In classical fine dining, no more than two plates can be carried at a time. This however has been augmented to allow up to three. Most high end restaurants will allow servers who can carry dishes around the dining room without disturbing the presentation to carry 3. Otherwise... Buddy up and learn military service.
i feel comforted in knowing that there are other people like you in your life that are mentally tortured by having to pretend that you are interesting
carrying 2 cups...i get the idea, but once u have to cups in one hand how do u pick up a 3rd with the other hand?....yeah....might as well stick to one hand = one cup
fyi, the video is meant for amateurs who are at a cafeteria or buffet that doesn't have trays...it's not really meant to be professional training. I DID, however, carry plates this way when I was a waitress, sometimes with 3 plates on my left arm and a 4th plate in my right hand. I learned the cup-carrying technique from a friend who worked at TGI Fridays (servers weren't allowed to use trays there back in the early 90s). I use it myself at home all the time.
I am studying at a Restaurant school, and what this women tries to teach out is just shit, you can't carry plates or glasses like that, that is unacceptable, it dosent even look good, you would get fired at a pizza place...
when it comes to clearing plates you should never need to be carrying a dinner plate at the same time as a desert plate- plates should be cleared at the end of each course- who puts desert on a table with dirty dinner plates. and when it comes to glasses carrying two is easy- you have 2 hands lol- for the occasional table of 3 this would work- but hey- why not use a tray-thats what they are for
This women obviously has no idea about how to carry glasses and plates!!! I would like to see her carrying normal restaurant plates (they are heavy and quiet big) with a food on them ... I am sorry but this is bullshit and remember the plates are around 60-70 degree in the restaurant HACCP!!!
see i know its a health violation if you carry drinks from the inside but if theres a lot of cups left ill just stack them together or put them all together and use my fingers and then wash my hands haha
GO TO HELL, I CARRY 5 TO 6 PLATES IN ONE ARM + TRAY WITH GLASES IN OTHER HAND
