With holofields, I think the Falcon is a first-class fire support vehicle armed with the bright lance. That's three S8 AP2 shots on a fast skimmer chassis which is very hard to kill. Put a small Avenger squad in it and it's effectively scoring as well. Very few things in 40K can compare favourably with its utility.
Falcon is one hot tank (thing)!
