The new misfits is like adding in full color to a noir film or an old horror movie or anything that uses "less is more" philosophy. The new misfits is like adding in full color to a noir film or an old horror movie or anything that uses "less is more" philosophy. The original misfits used certain old punk screenprinting and personal presence which gave mystery- it's not like you can just go up and put on a "spooky" mask and do the same thing.

@thx1191 glenn anzalone started the misfits with jerry ciafa in lodi new jersy in late april of 1977 thier first release was a 7 inch vinyl called cough/cool recorded through a fuzz box glenn played piano on the 3 tracks and jerry sang back up p.c. dfoyle is jerry's cousin who didnt join the greatest ghoul punk band until november of, i believe 1978 bobby steel got thrown for bein an asshole fuckin punk enter robo from black flag and a few other members who no one knows or cares about but me

@77DodgeTradesmanB200 If you actually knew as much as you seem to think you know, you'd know that Glenn didn't even know Jerry when Glenn started the band, and Jerry wasn't even their first bassist...That would be Diane DiPiazza. Glenn didn't even KNOW Jerry until Manny introduced him when they needed a new bassist after Diane stopped showing up to practice. Doyle didn't even join the band until 1980. Also, the Bobby Steele and Arthur Googy line-up was better than any other line-up.

@thx1191 Agree 100%.After Bobby left,it was going on for some time but after Googy left it was al downhill.Doyle was worst player on the world,Robo was HC,but that "EarthAD" Misfits are not the Misfits I fell in love with....Too bad there are not more recordings of those shows cbefore 1980...Did you watch here "live at bookies"?It sounds INSANE.Glenn could sing,they were playing on right speed,its killer.Well,its bad recording tho,but...After Googy left it was ALL downhill.

@adamrothraisdead man you just CANT count Diane as their bass player.Only didnt started the band,but he was there right from the beggioning.He was on FIRST show,he was on FIRST record.So,fact that Diane had benn practicing with Glenn and Manny few times....For me Jerry was only bass player of the Misfits

But You could not be more wrong, Jerry and glenn met then formed the fits, they started out only as a three piece set minus a guitarist. Glenn played all the parts on keyboard. I only know this because of the book that came with the boxset

If the booklet said otherwise, then it's full of shit...Jerry Only probably wrote it so he could pretend like he was a founding member to have an excuse to keep using the name and music.

Manny introduce Jerry to Glenn, Jerry helped finicially in getting the band jump started. I dont know why you are running around here waving a flag over a bassist who didnt stay with the band no more than 2 weeks

@orgasmtron1 You're missing the point...The point is that Jerry wasn't the first bassist, regardless of how long she was in the band...You claimed that Glenn and Jerry formed the band together, but if you know that he wasn't the first bassist and he was introduced to Glenn by Manny AFTER The Misfits already existed, then you should know that he had no hand in initially putting the band together. Not to mention that Glenn wrote all of the songs, anyway.

How about the fact that Jerry told Graves that they were going to stop playing the new music because the audience only wanted to hear the older stuff (the Danzig stuff)? How about the fact that Jerry changes the fucking words when playing live to remove "cuss" words and other things he deems inappropriate?

Jerry is not in this lineup so how is he a founding member? Diane left after a month and Jerry Only replaced her so yes he was there early but no, he is NOT the original bassist.
