One of my directors marched trumpet for this show and he told me the reason why they scored so low in percussion was because there was a bad vibe between the center snare and the snare to the left of him, the snare to the left marched 3 yrs. with BD and the center snare right now had 2yrs. with BD so the 3yr. vet thought he should be section leader

08 was a really good BD year, and usually I refrain from complimenting BD, but I still feel Coats or Cavies deserved high percussion so much more.They were both completely nuts.

I normally don't like the Blue Devils battery, but damn this is a lot better than I thought. And looking at the recaps, it was a close call between the top 5 percussion.

More towards Bluecoats and maybe Crownish. But mostly Coats.

I haven't seen Bluecoats for a while. I only saw Dev's last year. I don't get to the shows like I want to. I always make sure I get BD's drumline once a year; that's my yearly goal.

Considering the direction of BD since let's say '02 to now, this is not so impressive...FUN as hell to listen with new grooves, but the only difficult part to me seemed like the timing between snares on those splits, and what not...though, BD bass is always kick ass.
