  • Is the BG55 a good blower?

  • dam your shit smokes alot on cold start you got to much oil in the mix i never get smoke on mine!!! like that.

  • cool video i like that blower

  • I don't know why your holding the throttle open to start it and arseing on with the choke while its running.

To cold start pretty much anything properly just turn ignition on (if it has it), set to full choke, pull the starter cord till it tries to run. Stop and set choke to open and pull the starter again till it starts and runs, give it 3 seconds or so to tick over before giving it full revs.

  • damn man

  • My craftsman starts 9x faster...

  • I love my electric cordless blower no cranking or gaz smell..

  • Did you buy this new or used?

  • All Stihl 2 strokes=50:1 only.

  • i can get any stihl machine for half price from a pal i know saved me a fortune, just got a sh 86 for £170 brill.

  • Thats the one I have its the best one

  • its smokey because its 2 cycle gas cold starting god who does not know that

  • why so smokey?

  • 1st...get tht stupid star key+remove the muffler. that destroys the performance of the blower. im in miami fl+we hv no fire danger. bt wthout the muffler it will b loud as hell...it ll also shock u as to how mch more pwr it has. i wear ear muffs+they throw sparks a bit from the exit port. once you do this then u hv a real blower, then here s the starting procedure...i know d german guy is alr saying''u dunkuf' bt i know this blower in and out. WITHOUT d muffler set to choke+it instantly full pwr

  • iv hd ths goddam blower for ovr 2 yrs. it is THE standard for all other handheld blowers. i cut lawns for a living+just use this blower for small places so i dnt nd to drag out my big blower. sinc this guy isnt a lawn guy im gonna help u guys out by givin u the proper way to use this blower.

  • niceeee!!!

  • great vid!

  • ja hast recht

  • its 1:50

  • Gei geil

  • nice blower. i have the same one. mine starts on the 3rd or 4th pull every time and donesn't smoke at all. I use 50:1 mix. I also use a different cold start process though.

    1. switch on, choke on

    2. one push of the primer bulb

    3. Hold at full throttle with finger

    4. Pull til it fires (second pull with mine)

    5. Turn off choke

    6. Pull til start (third or fourth with mine)

    7. Release throttle when it starts

I love just about any product Stihl makes.

    Enjoy!

  • i am no stranger to this machine .. yours smokes a lot .. they should never smoke like that .. what mix are you using in the blower ?

  • The mix is 40:1 and the blower sat without being used for about 4 months without stabilizer in the fuel, and the temperature was below freezing when I started it. You can check out my other videos of it. But yeah, when it's started on the average day, it starts within 2 pulls and doesn't smoke at all.

  • @DanielJaegerFilms hi dan, why dont you winterize your equipment?

  • @DanielJaegerFilms

you should be running it on 50:1

  • 1:50 1L.oil of 50L Gas it´s better

  • its 50:1

  • @razor2001wgc All way to STIHL!

  • @razor2001wgc its smoking beacuse the carb is dirty, this happens when you leave any thing that uses gas to long, ever start up a old car and see the smoke. same thing here .

  • Nice! I have the exact same blower and wow does it has some power! I'm now saving up for the fs250 trimmer. If you have any comments about, it let me know because I've been thinking about buying it.

  • I've got some videos coming of my trimmers, they've got the 4 mix engine, and they're really great. As for the fs250, hey! You can't go wrong with ANY Stihl, so whatever you like, go 4 it!

  • Yeah, I know I can't go wrong. Stihl is the best man. I think the fs250 is the most powerful trimmer stihl offers. I'm going for it even if it is $500. I'm sure it's well worth it. I actually have another youtube account called stihl1992. So I'll send you a friend request on this account and the other one too. Take care dude.

  • Hey! I got your request. Best of luck to you!

  • nice blower I have same one.

  • You have a good machine. This blower came in first place in Consumer Reports!

  • thanks. I actually have the newer one just different numbers on it (SH85). How old is yours? Im betting you have the older one before they changed the numbers on everything because of emissions nonsense (less smoke coming out of their machines).

I have a video of it up on here.

Oh yea my trimmer was named best one by CR! stihl fs45

  • This one's about 2 years old I think. I'll take a look at your video!

  • thanks. and i love that blower. I like how you started it up.

    but why so smokey?

  • it sat for about 4 months with no stabilizer in the fuel, and it was below freezing outside.

  • ouch! add that stabilizer man, I did to mine and much easier to start and running a lot better

might want to check ur plug as well

not giving u a hard time just friendly advice

  • No problem! I love it when friends give me advice!

  • same here lol. so yea clean or replace plug, clean or replace air filter. add stabilizer and let it run for 5 minutes clean out engine

  • I'll do that. BTW, I have some videos coming of my other Stihl products, so stay tuned!

  • cannot wait to see them. let me know when up.

check out stihl website they have some nice new blowers up on it.

  • i can get stihl machines 4 half price brand new
