Why are you being so snarky about Tom and his illness? "He shouldn't have been sleeping around" is easy for you to say. Since when have men been just as under fire for being promiscuous as women? Usually, that's nothing but glorification among males. We have no indication as to what rate Tom slept around, and toward the end of his life, he had a partner, Scott Chambliss, to whom he was very much committed to. Way to be ignorant.
I never saw the episodes with John Davidson. It looks like the only thing they changed from the Dick Clark version was how it introduced the winner circle at the beginning. Also a different host. Oh and JoMarie Payton. Loved her on "Family Matters".
I never liked the whole monitors/trilons mix that happened during the second season... I mean, the smaller pyramid's category displays being changed from trilons to monitors, while the big Pyramid still had its "flipping boxes"? It just broke the charm of the set to me...
parents have to believe in school. Otherwise they could go to jail. Because the law says that parents are required to send kids to school until they are 16.
and that's what inspired Ryan Seacrest to say "This IS American Idol", I'm sure Seacrest could fill in as (or even take over) as announcer for Johnny Gilbert on Jeopardy
I'm excited to see JoMarie Payton here; who will always be Harriet Winslow to me. I'm excited to see Tom Villard too. Sometimes nerves can come along with meekness as in JoMarie's case. Tom is very authoritve and smart and looks like a serious competitor here. What happened there was different than the WIDOW incident; it shows a flaw in having homynyms as words in this game; you don't know how the judge will except it. I still think that credit should be given to them for the flaw.
John didn't know how to spell crochet? Geez!

I just read that Tom died in 1994 of AIDS :( He was only 40 years old. So sad.

@sddwtbnofather He shouldn't have been sleeping around then.

@funkeekatt
May YOU SHOULD have some compassion. You have no idea how he contracted it, and it doesn't even matter how. He was a human being.
sddwtbnofather 1 year ago
@sddwtbnofather It's likely he inflicted it upon himself through sexual conduct or drug use. He sure wasn't born with it.

I don't think he'd want to just announce, if he was approached by J! he'd probably insist on hosting. Let's pray to every diety that doesn't happen.

I went to the same college as Tom. He had unusually good looks and stood out from the rest. He was also so gentle and kind.

Those are some serious shoulders on Tom!

Tom Villard was also one of two cast members from the 80s' sitcom, "We got It Made", who did "Pyramid", Bonnie Urseth was the other.

Yep. AdamNedeff has a ten minute clip of a 1984 episode of The New $25,000 Pyramid, with Bonnie Urseth and Billy Crystal as guests. :)
