why does the 777 need so much room above the seats. look at the window, and then lokk up the is a good 10 feet above them? what is up there?still love the 777 ^_^
This video is very well done. Nice tracking after liftoff, especially. You wouldn't have a somewhat higher resolution version, would you? Thanks for posting it!
hav you noticed that, when you are in a plane, when it is taxiing, you always see that the spoilers go up 1 second, then down again.why should the pilots do this?are they playing the plane?and, one more thing.why during landing, the engines 'break into two' or 'open up'?
The spoilers go up and down to check they are working, and the engines "break open", as you put it, because the pilot reverses the thrust to slow the plane down.
@supersinghao123 that is standard procedure. Pilots test many parts of the aircraft to see if they are working. When landing the engines "break into two" because that is reverse thrust. Reverse thrust is redirecting the thrust of the engines forward instead of backwards to slow the plane down. I hope this answers your questions!
When a Plane is taxing to the Runway they test the Controlls. And the Spoilers to.
The reason why the engine is "break into two" or "open up" when the plane land is the reverse thrust...the full thrust is going into the other direction so the Plane can brake more.
@supersinghoa123 the spoilers go up and down because the pilots are running their check of all the parts to make sure they are working. and the engines "break into two" during landing because the reverse thrust is applied. to slow the plane down. they dont acutally break into two.
@supersinghoa123 , well the spoilers go up and down together with the rudder turning left and right before taxing is a standard procedure for pilots to check their flight controls are perfectly alright and the engines is not breaking into two, but it is called the reverse thrust...it helps the plane to reduce the speed of the landing plane .....the airflow is directed to the opposite direction causing the plane to become slower..
@supersinghoa123 the engines "open up" so that they can perform what is called reverse thrust. u can google it . the open up section is actually the thrust reverser diployed. hope it help : )
@supersinghoa123 pilots do the spoilers when taxiing just to make sure they work. The ground crew looks at it. Also, with the engines, when they look like they split up, its called reverse thrust to help slow the plane down.
@supersinghoa123 this is the standard preflight check "all flight controls free and correct" also at some airports and taxiways where there are some very tight turns depending on wind conditions they do have to vary thier taxi speed quite a lot where it does take time for the engines to spool up and spool down
@supersinghoa123 hey i hope this helps, there not playing when the spoilers go up an down, there are doing a pre flight checklist ( to make sure everything is working before they take off. As for the engines breaking in 2... when they land, the pilots put the engines into reverse thrust...to slow the plane down as soon as possible, thats why its so loud, hope this helps.
the spoilers go up, because the pilots are checking their controls, most big jets dont use the ailerons for turning but they use the spoilers.
and the thing that opens up on the engine is called Reverse Thrust, its like a break, instead of pushing the airplane forward, it pushes the airplane backwards or "reverse" to slow it down.
@supersinghoa123 The Engines opening up is the reverse thrust which stops the plane as its brakes cant stop it for the lengths of most runways thats why most planes overshoot the runways during an all engine failure. and the spoilers are just being tested to ensure they're working
@pacavis You're right about the thrust reversers (the air from the fan is redirected - it doesn't go around the core of the engine anymore, it is deflected towards the front. Modern turbofan engines normally have these "cascade" type thrust reversers.
You are wrong about the brakes, though. An airplane HAS to be capable of stopping with brakes and spoilers only. Thrust reverse is very effective and the fact that it's not required provides a significant safety margin.
@fcon76 U right the plane is supposed to be able to stop with only breaks but wrong about spoilers...the spoilers are only to disrupt wingflow on touch down to prevent any further lifting in case of bounces..... And as for brakes...look at former accidents and see how many planes have managed to land and stop on the runway with engine failures most runoff, and i mean big planes like the 777, A330-40series, 747...Of course the tiny ones will stop because they dnt nid long runways to stop..
@supersinghoa123 that pilot not plying that plane.atcly the pilot do that cos they have own reason.let me explain for the 1st question.when taxiing the spoilers go up 1 second, then down again cos maybe that plane going too fast.it is called speed break.if that pilot using break it can bring damage.and wht u see the engines break into two or open up it is same like the reason above.
First of all they check all rudders and the spoiler once. Just to make sure everything work fine.
The engine "break into two" when they use the Reverser. The cold ByPass air, which makes about 75 % of the whole thrust will be reflected backwards. Thats why it opens.
@supersinghoa123 Basically spoilers are like brakes but in taxi they test it out. And enigines open up when landing because they need thrust reverse. And also spoilers go up when landing because they need to brake and stop!!
@supersinghoa123 And about the engines modern jet engines are equipped with thrust reversers. They are doors that open up and reverse the flow of air through the engine. They help to slow the plane on landing.
@supersinghoa123 The spoilers are tested all the time before the flight. that is the one second deal. They also do this at the same time as they set flaps to around 10-15 degrees. Just a spoilers and flaps test. The flaps are set at 10-15 degrees to increase lift on the plane to get it to leave the ground.
When the plane touches down, and that break into two deal occurs, that is called reverse thrust. it literally turns the air around to blow towards the front and cause the plane to slow down.
@supersinghoa123 because the pilot want to ensure that the aileron and the tail is well function.....the engines 'break into two' that you see is called reverse thrust system so that the pilot can slow the A/C during landing.Auto braking system also used to slower the A/C efficiently
correct, also having reverse thrust slows the rate of air pressure travelling through the turbines, this helps the plane stop quicker before running out of runway
the reason the spoilers come up is to slow the plane down wen the pilot breaks, and the engines open up because thats reverse thrust playing into action, this happens wen the pilot applies force on the throttles except pulling hem beck, i know this because i wannna be a pilot!!!!!
@supersinghoa123 they are just last minute testing if every thing works...... and engine breaks into half while landing, this is called reverse throttle... it is basically reversing the mechanism of how plane gains speed.. ie it helps to stop
@supersinghoa123 They are actually testing the spoilers if its working properly. If the engines breaks into 2 is called Reverse Thrust, and its used to slow down the aircraft in the runway.
@supersinghoa123 OK...thats why the were testing their ailerons by bank the yolk left and right...if you were in left seat..you may observe the left ailerons will come up with the spoilers...and if you were in right seat...you see the right ailerons and the spoilers come up...also they do the elevator..this is a normal proc for airliners
@supersinghoa123 i think the spoilers move up n down because of wind pressure and the engines open up so that they can suck in more oxygen for better combustion and thus better "much-needed" power reqd for take-off... i hope i m right on both but not sure....
@supersinghoa123 Moving the spoilers is a final test to be sure they work when needed. And the engines "falling apart" means the pilot will use the reverse power to break the plane. Can you imagine how hot mechanical breakes are when e.g. 250 tons of weight and 250 km/h speed have to be stopped? One of the reasons to involve the reverse thrust.
@supersinghoa123 during takeoff, its one of the pre-flight checks they do. and on landingthe engine opens up so that it can perform reverse thrust, it helps slow the plane down
@supersinghoa123 the engine open up because easier for plane to break, and there is a lot of resultant force and can make the plane stop before reach the end of the runway :)

And the engine breaks into two, because the pilot engaged reverse thrust. It redirects the exhaust of the engine to help slow down faster.

Greeting TheCARRE74.=)
TheCARRE74 2 years ago
its called Pakistan702 cuz probably PIA had a codeshare ting going on at the time wid malaysia.
boeingt 2 years ago
Codeshare doesn't mean the flight uses the other airline's callsign. This plane was leased by PIA.
tiadaid 2 years ago
i see. must have been a small time lease thats y they didnt paint it in PIA colours
boeingt 2 years ago
it's probably a wet lease, where MAS supplies the plane with crew, maintenance and insurance. Wet leases often last a few months at the most.
tiadaid 2 years ago
PIA leases planes often...specially for hajj time.

Sounds so nice with GE-90's Engines
gafalcon7 2 years ago
What GE-90 engines? That plane has Rolls Royce engines on it. You can see the logo on the nacelle as the plane taxis by.
