  • this is wonderful!

  • 1951

  • samechatelno !

  • although I prefer roberto szidon performance of this rhapsody,I really love this Gilels interpretation.

If i choose 3 great 20th century pianists,Gilels will be included.

  • This is an unbelievable performance and recording. It is not from the '30s though. I thought so as well for years but seemingly it is a studio recording made in Moscow in 1951. Certainly sounds more reasonable. That would make the great Emil 34 or 35. What a interpretation - what sweep and command. Thank you the posting.

  • great master.

you know that gielels studied near to heinrich neigauz.......

  • Neuhaus was his teacher.

  • Hello, but I am Gilels admirer. I am delighted very much that I have come across to this recording. 1930s, therefore Gilels is still teens or early twenties, I think? But this is so unmistakebly Gilels, especially as I listen on towards to the end, that I would not doubt if I am told this recording after 1950. I cannot feel that this is Gilels's best performance, but I nevertheless enjoyed to listen to it, yes, enjoyed very much. Sorry, wrong English, but thank you very much for a BIG treat!

  • I LOVE IT!!!!
