  • i really like the sound of your playing, and this melody. hope you dont mind i ripped the audio and put it on my ipod cause i enjoyed it. :)

  • my oh my that is a very sweet and touching melody well played my firend

  • beautiful

  • I had to replace my tricone because, unlike wooden guitars, the tricone do not sound better with age. They were 80 yrs old and began to rattle. I still have them though. Is that a reissue? If not it is mint. Thanks

  • No I don't think he converted it because I have a 1930's national tricone that looks just like it. Beautifully played my frind. Makes me want to learn how to play mine better. Btw did that etching come stock? Thanks

  • E' una canzone bellissima.

  • Great Sound. Good performance.Deep feeling. I like your "Yeah" at the end - comes realy from your heart. Thanks

  • @regthorsaxon I agree, well said.

  • Beautiful song. Theres a lot of crap on YT, I dont favourite many things but I like this very much.

Is this body steel or bell brass?

    What material is your slide?

  • This is amazing. I've been attempting to play along in open G.

  • great song. I'm guessing you converted that from round neck to square, because the tuners are facing down instead of up like most squarencks. If you did convert, it's a great idea, that tricone has an awesome sustain

  • *Applause

  • beautiful -thanks

  • I like the way you keep those notes flowing.

  • Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • rich , warm and wonderful . Very enjoyable

  • OOO my good, thats the most beutifull steelguitarr i have herd, please tell me how long you have been playing mr:) its awsome;)

  • my lord, this is so beautiful that it brought a tear to my eye and gave me goose bumps, thanky you for putting this on, it almost sounds like wont back down by tom petty, simply amazing

  • Fantastic song and playing! I've watched it maybe a hundred times already. This video has single handedly convinced me to begin learning slide guitar. Yesterday I went to McCabe's guitar shop here in Los Angeles to meet the teacher and look at their tricones. Thanks for the inspiration!

  • Nice tune, beautifully played, and awesome tone!

  • If you don't mind me to ask, how much did that tricone cost?

  • 2.300,00 $- in S.Luis Obisbo(CA), c/o National Guitars

  • why the neck of the guitar have a squared shape ?

it would be bettre with a rounded ??

  • i mean, because of the shape, you must play only in open tuning on your legs and you cannot play in classic tuning classics songs and classic chords...

if i buy one, i choose a rounded neck for playing both styles because it's really expensive.

(She will be mine, oh yes! she will be mine)

  • beautiful

  • Intense, Man what a journey ! Thank You for sharing this gift.

  • Thanks to you

  • SWEET!

  • Beautiful. What tuning do you use? Is this a Jerry Douglas tune?

  • GBDGBD, yes it is the tune that JD prefer and the standard tune of squareneck bluegrass dobro

  • oh man - to play like that. . .. . Really great song too.

  • Really thanks!!

  • Can you help me? I want to start playing on dobro, and I want to ask you, how type of guitar is this? Is like dobro but it´s resofonic guitar ye?

  • anything else, beautiful song, really nice =)

  • It's a type of resonator guitar called a tricone (it has 3 small cones; a dobro has one large cone).

Tricones are metal body and have a softer initial tone but long sustain.

Tricones have long been used in Hawaiian and blues. Dobros are often used in bluegrass. Hope this helps.

  • absolutely beautiful. I want one.

  • Awesome! How old is the guitar, is it one of the originals, or one of the new re-issues? It (and you) sound great!

  • Real nice and well played

  • How long have you been playing? I would love to be able to play by ear (been working on it for about 4 years now on my Beard dobro). Very nice arrangement! I'll have to try and learn it now. Thanks for sharing.

  • Well my previous comment was posted during the video's runtime. Because this was so beautiful I had to post another one after it ended.

Thank you for this beautiful thing.

  • refreshing and inspirational to hear an original and beautiful slide song.

  • thats beautiful

  • meant I'd love a squareneck

  • Nice rig chief, supreme tone and tune. Listened to it 9x and I GOT to go to bed now. I'd love a tricone, but I have enough to do with roundnecks. Got 2 nationals, 3rd will be ordered around Dec. Can't have enough. Slide on chief, you got it.

  • very pretty stuff
