  • This is a man who's managed to convince middleaged, married women who've had tubal ligations to have the operation reversed, because they are still having sex with their husbands, and sex for mere pleasure is wrong. See 'The contraception of Grief' Mr.Pavone has a deep phobia of female sexuality, me thinks.

  • That man knows about holocaust, the catholic church are having a field day in Ireland for the last 90 years raping, murdering and torturing children. The longest running holocaust in the history of mankind. Get the catholic scum out of Ireland.

  • liar !

  • Father Provolone, do yourself and the Roman Catholic Church a favor. Take a vow of silence and keep it! I am a Catholic for Choice. You and your Priests for Loot will never change my opinion on this matter. At least I'm not under indictment for financial malfeasance! You should be excommunicated. The last thing the Catholic Church needs is another scandal caused by a corrupt cleric! Doesn't Priest for Loot have an auditor and keep books to track its expenditures as does Planned Parenthood?

  • I read an article on lifenews(dt)com. It was the only public voice I've heard defending Frank Pavone, but what's interesting is what it said at the end about the writer:

"Jerry Horn serves as director of Public Relations for Priests for Life...As spokesperson for Priests for Life, Jerry does not represent or speak for Father Frank Pavone or any other individual"

(Someone should remind Mr. Horn what the words "director of public relations" means.)

  • Another thing I must add is that father is a man of simple taste, yearly for the Walk for Life in San Francisco Ca., he stays at a simple family style hotel.....Not at the Ritz Carlton hotel. Father is a decent human being and a very good priest who strives for excellence in all that he does. How many children has he saved? Countless, and this I know for sure....

  • @REBECCAPGARZAMEV A man of simple taste? That's not the issue. You Catholics are paying Priests for Life $10 million a year to be public speecher writers. They have no real impact on women's lives.

Planned Parenthood may commit the sin of abortion, but it has real impact on women's lives because it is directly involved with women in crisis. The day you see fiscal responsible oversight from Priests for Life is the day you'll see Frank Pavone hanging out with a pregnant black teenager.

  • That's right, he is still a priest in good standing with the church.

  • @Water4Jerimiah Yes sir there is a Hierarchy in the Church Starts with the Pope then the Cardinals, Bishops then Priest Deacons and the Laity. Fr. Frank is being disobedient to his Diocese and Bishop. There is a lot more to the story but the main Point is that Fr. Pavone is being disobedient to the Bishops both Patrick Zurek and Bishop Yanta (Previous Bishop) orders and request and therefor was suspended of his priestly duties outside this Diocese.

  • @MRSPURS806 I figured he was put in Amarillo since he is a self-deluded maverick and doesn't care about the fact Gospel of Life Ministries has been soliciting tax-deductible contributions without authority from the IRS for the past 16 months. I guess when you're a virgin who thinks God sides with you and your cause for fighting women who are enjoying sex, you can justify anything including breaking the law.

  • Wow, after seeing this, I think I understand, but at the same time I don't. I always thought Fr Frank Pavone was the head honcho of that group of pro-lifers. But the one thing I picked up from this video is fear.

    Frank Pavone is scared.

He is not the top gun it seems, and I never knew that such a weird hierarchy existed - even above him. Being an atheist I have little concept or understanding of such a power structure. Atheists are more like cats after all. We don't have any structure.

  • Shame on Amarillo Globe News for reporting Fr. Pavone suspended when he was not! Don't be part of the problem!

  • @jmkeller I wouldn't be blaming the newspaper for reporting the use of the word, "suspended" --they were simply quoting the bishop's letter and statement.

It sounds to me like a minor confusion. He has been suspended from his work with PFL, but not from his functions as a priest.

But it is hardly the paper's fault for creating this misunderstanding.

  • It is a violation of canon law to say he was suspended when he committed no canonical violations.

  • He was not suspended, but simply told he must restrict his ministry to the diocese of Amarillo.
