First; I am a registered Independent AND proud to be conservative! Second; until last week he was on the shortlist for the Veep spot a "heartbeat" from the presidency. You should be thankful this came out now and not October! McCain wasn't a public figure when he had his lapse of moral turpitude and clearly has repented since then. Clearly you think there is nothing wrong with his character, perhaps you can work with and donate to his next campaign!

I noticed after watching this debate that the people are who corrupt politics with there inablity formulate their own perspective. Us people rot politics with one sided nonsense and our fear to listen to both sides and our constant ability to judge with out listening. I myself thought mccain was a terrible canidate but I realize that I can only judge him after giving him a chance and hes not that stupid and out of touch. Yet, people are bashing Edwards, who cheated on his wife. I watched Insanity-Hannity and Colmes a few nights ago where they argued about what made Edwards different from McCain. Hannity kept going on about how McCain cheated on his wife because he was a POW for 5 1/2 years and that basially he was justified because he was beaten... (What in the hell has that to do with cheating on your wife because she was disfigured from an accident?)Then continued to bash Edwards,who was hella wrong but not...

Edwards did what was right ...he denied it to the media...but he was man enough to admit it to his wife 2 years ago when the affair began and ended. I think issues such as this one...even in McCain's case should be left up to the people in the marriage to figure out, fix or end.

You are right. Edwards was wrong but I do believe he is being treated wrongly in the media. I think the difference between Edwards' and McCain's situations is that when McCain's happened, he wasn't in the public eye like Edwards is. We, as a nation, feel it is our business to stick our nose in everyone else's business when, really, it's a family affair.

Edwards is being "Bashed" because like Clinton, when he was confronted about he repeatedly lied. Unlike Clinton who lied under oath which is in fact a crime and just Like Detroit DNC May Kwami Kilpatrick lied about his affair under oath and spent the night in jail.

That is patently false! Because Mr. Edwards was running for the highest office in the nation it became everyones business. When asked even in October '07 by members of the media he denied it. So his propensity to lie is evident. His lapse of moral turpitude reflects his character or lack thereof. Furthermore, it is yet to be determined if he actually broke campaign finance laws by making payments to his mistress. stay tuned, he may yet face criminal charges.

He's not running for any political office right now. He didn't even MAKE IT to the primaries. It doesn't matter now. It's not proven, also, that he payed the ex mistress anything. But I do think that people like yourself have a propensity to demonize democrats because you believe that conservatives/ republicans are all perfect. For instance, Sean Hannity stated that the reason that McCain cheated on his wife was because he was a POW for 5 1/2 years and a different person, when that was a lie.
