@luis6079 The part I never got was, George Romero or somebody had commented how Duane Jones did not want to play the, and I don't know that this is the right word, hot headed character, and they didn't agree and then looking back realized he was right...but Ben never struck me as being like that, he remained very level headed and calm for the most part, as somebody had to be.

If u don't like this in the least or can't sit through it because it's "boring", then YOU are the living dead. This is a great film with wonderful acting. Let your fucking imagination do some of the work. I hate movies with much detail on how someone dies. This movie allows you to interpret in different ways, the horror of death in such a scenario. Perhaps the movie shows how the people who like this style of horror r like the people trying to survive and the zombies r the modern horror peeps.

You know. It still underlines what is good about us, but also explains why that's so rare that we deserve to fail. The Dinosaurs were models of brotherly love, compared to us. They failed. We may well have beaten them, but they lasted far longer than we ever will. Because, well, we're "us". I remember when I got the Millenium Edition of this movie on Dvd, And the difference between fuzzy over the air broadcasts of Night Of The Living Dead on non HDTV and a restored edition on Dvd was staggering; now its on blueray I think, and looks even better. A must have for any horror collection.

@electronfun This film is an absolute work of cinematic art! It really has nothing to do with zombies. It is a symbolic piece touching on subjects as diverse as the Vietnam "conflict", racism and other sociological issues that were prevalent at the time(1968). I dont have enough room here to really explain it all but i will sum it all up by saying this- It chronicles man's struggle for meaning in a world consuming itself.
