im a young person, but i dont feel labour is doing anything worthwhile to gain my support. i would join if i thought any of my points would be taken in and as somebody with the knowledge of youth issues and losing a close friend to these issues,i think id have many valuable points to raise
£1 is pretty cheap considering you get to be a member of a political party, which I think is a pretty cool thing. Not saying it has to be Labour, though.
Does it have to be Labour?? where views of the masses are acknowledged and rightly implemented is where young people should find themselves. All we need is a party with the right policies.
Do you really think young people want to join a warmongering party such as yourselves? Pull out of Afghanistan and Iraq and you might have a chance. Young people want peace, not a party who uses war to support an already privileged elite. You really are clueless, aren't you?
could someone please explain to me what the advantage is for a person (barring someone running for election) is to join the labour party or any party for that matter.
I am a member of Young Labour and a member of my local party. It is good fun being part of a local party as you get to choose candidates who represent you and you get to form policy through discussion at debate at local meetings.
On the Young Labour website, I navigated myself to the 'Join' page, and went directly to the small print at the bottom. Surprise, surprise - you've got to be 15. What about someone like me who has a strong interest in joining, but is only 13? It is the same on the core website too, and is really rather vexing.
I'd rather not 'taste' anything connected with your corrupt party & the fact your are offering membership for £1 shows nobody is joining, nor do they want to. You are finished, do you know it yet?
why dont labour go on the street and ask NORMAL young people about the 1 quid joining thing. if you want more young people 2 join you, why dont u say "here is a 20 quid drinks voucher to spend in booze buster" that would soon get you more young people with you, why did gordon brown chicken out of caling an election?, cuz he knew that if he did call one, he would lose.i think we should of voted who we wanted as PM.
There was no need to vote Brown as PM. In the UK we put a PARTY in charge, we do not vote for one person like they do in the USA. The leader of the party is the PM and so if one PM resigns it is upto the party to elect their new leader who will become the PM.

If anything Labour was becoming more like the Conservative party, sheding the traditional right wing stand they had for more of a left wing one.
It probably wouldn't even matter which of them got voted in these days.

Does that mean Labour will pay a pound or do they want a pound. I would want at least £5 Billion to join.

Not sure what makes you say that. At the time the Labour Party were 10 points ahead of the Conservatives and the Libs were on 11%.
Labour would have won it, few people question that, the issue is whether or not there needed to be an election. IMO, there was no need.
