I hope Audi would consider dumbing down the R8's powerplant from a V10 to either a turbocharged or better yet, a supercharged V8.

If I wanted a V10, I'd buy a Gallardo. The Audi V8 from the original R8 gave the car character.

Maybe someday, I'll pick the V8 one in some internet retailing or auction site for nearly half its price :)

r8 v10 is a bit longer and wider than than the r8 v8, also different exhaust tips.

the v10 r8 has better exhaust sounds from that high revving v10, better performance, and definitely better looking.

And then you get home and realize you could (and should) have bought a TTRS for £60,000, which will happily keep up with a R8 V10 to the other side of 100 mph. This will have left you enough change to go and by and RS4 V8 (which in my opinion is still the best Audi ever made) or put your name down for the new RS3, both of which will keep up with the R8 V8 to the other side of 100 mph.

So to sum up, you can have the same performance as both of the above cars and only pay for one of them.

@BillyWartaal From 80 to 100 is an increase of 25%, ( 10% is 8, plus 10% plus 5%, so 8+8+4 =20)

But if you start with 100 and work back to 80 then you are reducing by 20% ( 10%of 100 is 10 plus another 10 for 20 %, or 20) So if your saying how much more expensive, then its 25%, or if how much cheaper for the v8 it's 20%.
