  • My Gosh, how I wish I'd been there - a truly seminal moment in the torrent of blues that washed over Europe in the sixties - saw Mr Waters and others many times in London, Brighton etc., but this has a real groundbreaking atmosphere about it.

  • No humungous amps or earth-shaking PA, but what a great sound.

  • a very young Willie 'Big Eyes' Smith on drums - WIllie died 16 September - sadly missed

  • @philipwight Not too many members from Muddy's band left around anymore, Pinetop Perkins died earlier this year as well.

  • where are the microphones?

  • to the person who posted they dislike this. you need to look in the mirror and say to you reflection I AM AN ASSHOLE until it sinks in that indeed you are the hole at the end of ones arse.

  • this is absolutely great - wish i was rhere

  • This is simply lovely! Also the stories you all tells us here. Thanks for that. I saw also the man in the rockin chair that you say.

  • What a voice!

  • same guy in the rockin chair as in the Sister Rosetta Tharpe vid - same gig or just same crew, different time? ...were you there, can you tell us if this was a regular venue for such stuff?

  • RIP MM Bro

  • Indeed, this was actually Wilbraham Road station, not Chorlton Station. Wilbraham Road station has also been demolished, it was by the junction of Alexandra Road South and Mauldeth Road West. It was a lovely station....

  • I was there with Georgina -never to be forgotten. Man didn't it rain, Rosetta

  • wow I lived right opposite there in the eighties used to play there all summer long, never knew it was like that

  • I would love the full video of the show

It was made and broadcast by Granada TV

Why they wont they repeat it ??

I believe that the station used was Wilbraham Rd station for some reason it was changed to this location

  • yerrrr I am from Chorlton and never knew that Muddy Waters preformed hear until my uncle told me to check out this video GREAT!!!!!!!!!!
