  • frank is the best...ay lovet

  • i dont like it when sinatra sings it

  • Song we walked out to at my wedding :) My husband also plays this on the piano.

  • This one of all time greatest love songs. Which can be song to a child, parent, sibling or a best friend. Even your pet. Just pure love at it's simplest.

  • Beautiful =-)

  • great orchestra , singer and composer what more .....

  • this is the most romantic and the sexiest kind of music ever. sadly theres no music like this anymore. but thanks god we still have sinatra's music.

  • @mehidalgo18 There is music like this still out there but it is awfully difficult to locate. There are so many different genres today and this isn't on top like rock pop and hiphop like it should be so it gets less attention.

  • @mehidalgo18 The closest thing to Sinatra Elvis or even Dean Martin is Michael Buble but even he's going to let the Music industry screw up his way of music

  • @RYansAdams79 Buble? Karaoke cover boy? Really? Has popular singing gone that low?

  • @RYansAdams79 well I've heard a few songs of buble, and I liked it. whatever its meant to be its meant to be. if buble wants to change his music style theres nothing we can do about it. just enjoy his good songs.

  • My favorite song in the world.

  • i think i should dance to this at my wedding(:

  • LOVE this.

So does my 14 yr old son.

    Great music NEVER gets old.

  • Such a lovely version of this song. Yes, Frank is great, but Nelson Riddle arrangements are unmatched for this fluidly swinging music!

  • I'm singing this to my fiance on our wedding day! Went to school for Music Education/vocal performance and graduated in '08 and never use the talent anymore. He says he loves hearing me sing. Never heard me sing this one though. :P Love Sinatra. Louis Armstrong/Ella Fitz vers. is great too!

  • Gershwin is my man.

  • Just checkin' out some of your videos and saying hello!

  • Thanks for the great video to go along with the classic song!!

  • Beautiful...breathtaking and beautiful...

  • It's very clear Our love is here to stay Not for a year, but ever and a day The radio And the telephone And the movies that we know May just be passing fancies and in time may go But oh my dear Our love is here to stay Together we're going a long long way In time the Rockies may crumble Gibraltar may tumble They're only made of clay But our love is here to stay
  • I read that Gershwin's last words were of Fred Astaire. He wanted to work more with Fred and Ginger. The only time they ever did a private dance was for him.

  • I'm in love

  • Awwwwesome

  • Like to point out that Mr. George Gershwin looks a lot like a modern pianist-song writer: Billy Joel. If you bob Gershwin's nose you get Mr. Joel's mug.

  • I think two people mis-clicked.

    Or have no souls.

    One of the two.

    lol ^^

  • im dancing with my babe tonight with this song.

  • Francis ! Absolute class !

  • FANTASTIC..... Thanks for posting this beautiful song sung by the one and only

    Frank Sinatra.

  • "Real men listen to Frank Sinatra." That's fabulous and I agree. :-)

  • Real men listen to Frank Sinatra.

  • To You...

  • Who doesn't like Frank Sinatra?...... Who?

  • "THE VOICE"

    is addictive..

  • Clasic Sinatra

  • I love this song, and I knew Frank Sinatra had a version of it! Do you know where I can find this? I have most of his records, I am a true Sinatra fan :-D I sang this song about 5 years ago for my Beginning Voice class final exam, I sang in his tone!! I got an A too, yayyyy :-D I do have a rehearsal video of it on Vhs, I should upload it!

  • Gene Kelly is my favourite actor, and this was one of my favourites he sings in American in Paris, but Frank is my favourite singer, so... this is kinda the greatest thing ever :) lol

  • Frank's effortless ability to glide through a tune and his natural intuitive choice of notes and rythmic style makes this version superb!

  • Such a beautiful version of this lovely song...but...I still think Gene Kelly owns this one. :)

  • Felt that this song was here before

Reminds me on a very special person

  • Classic.

  • Added to favorites!! Thanks for posting Nocaro =)

  • The first time I red the lyrics I really did not expect the song to sound this like this!

  • @loydkoh826 First class recording of this by Frank. Joni James

also has made a great recording of this song.

  • Fun and lively. I'll always be partial to Gene Kelly's version, but this is fun.

  • Ahhhhhhhhh...what!!!! a voice!!!!******

  • @gfks11 dearest judie, thanks for sharing this wonderful video with me, send much love margo

  • Wonderful version. I sang this to my husband at our wedding. Our love was here to stay even after till death did us part. Today would have been our wedding anniversary so I was going through all the versions. Harry Connick is good. I only knew Ray Charles's version at the time of getting wed. Thanks for posting.

  • Besides the Gerorge/Ira history of this song there must have been a Frank/Ava background in his recording of it in '55.

  • my love song to my wife.I have loved her since wet met at age eleven in 1954.

  • One of Frank's best, and a very tender song because it was George Gershwin's last. Ira Gershwin's words perfectly matches with the lyric's and outcomes a beautiful song that will last forever.

  • RIP. Thomas Frederick Wilson.

  • Anyone know when...where,,..this was recorded?

  • This was recorded Oct. 17, 1955 at Capitol in Los Angeles with orchestra arranged and conducted by Nelson Riddle.

  • @Nocaro Thank you very much......I thought it was a fifties arrangement....but wasn't sure.

  • @Nocaro Its funny that this song was recorded on my 7th birthday, because its always been one of my all time favorite songs. Doesn't it amaze you that George Gershwin is revered as a great composer, which he most certainly was, but how about Ira as a lyricist. No one ever seems to mention Ira, but in my book its was always a combo effort, George & Ira TOGETHER made some amazing music. In fact, amazing doesn't even close to being appropriate. I surely wish there was more.

  • Thanks for the comments...and it's true that Ira never got the recognition for being the marvelous lyricist he was, he was "s'wonderful".

  • @Nocaro the mere fact that he came up with that proves the point.

  • @bjclark1017 I completely agree with you. Both brothers were unquestionably musical giants, but Ira never got the recognition he deserved. To many people who love their music, "a Gershwin tune" means only George. Some have no idea that Ira wrote those lyrics or that he even existed, but I love him for those words. His heart must have been breaking as he wrote lyrics about everlasting love after such a great loss. Both George and Ira "will be here to stay" for as long as music exists.

  • @bjclark1017 Cant Agree more! Ira was SO under-rated:(

  • @Nocaro LIES

  • @thetomatoelement Say what?

  • @CleRoyster wow great choice for a song....

  • Treasured and cherished

  • I love this song....especially Frank Sinatra's version....Lovely...

  • @KissMeQuk I tried to add my video with Frank Sinatra singing, but it didn't work.....and lost the video to attach...;-(

  • love the etta james version too

  • A great combination:Ira and Geoge Gershwin and Frank Sinatra.I love it.

  • Our love is here to stay..perfect..thank you...

  • my grandpa sang a song with frank at a casino when he was alive (my gpa)

  • was Frank also alive as well?

  • @mert401 yes

  • yes

  • Love your singing Frank - u can croon away all night, so relaxing!

  • Great song! Thanks for posting...

Our love is here to stay!

  • the Dinah´s Washington version is great too

  • @villgomz006..Yes! I agree her version is much better.. Also I love her song, one of my old time fav, What a differnce a day makes! Thanks!

  • wow...they don't write or sing music like this anymore, and just listen to that orchestra! this song brings tears to my eyes...

  • @Chattee41 Couldn't have said it better.

  • great wedding/love/dance song even when sitting on the couch in the dark cuddling with someone you love

  • what a great singer a legend

  • This is one of the Gershwins' best, and no one can put it across like dear Ole' Blue Eyes. People are not capable of writing songs of this quality any more, so it makes it all the more important to remember the goodies such as this one.

  • I agree!

  • I've read that Ira Gershwin wrote the lyrics FOR his brother & that is how he was coaxed back into the creative process after his devastating loss...

  • Thank you for posting this one of my very favourite songs being sung by one of my big favourite singers..... I really love Gershwin's music he, wrote some fabulous songs. What a pity he died so young. THANK YOU again

  • Wow...

  • great all time love song

  • One of my two favorite Sinatra songs. I sang it to my wife on our wedding day.

  • @DesiluTrek I sang it to your wife on your wedding day too!

  • This song is so sweet. I love it.

  • capital = best

  • I ing this Capatol release at Karaoke. G Gershwin;'s last gift before they operated on the Brain Tumouir that was not operable. Ira did finish the Lyrics, but Oscar Levant finished the music, as it was also incomplte this song was written for the highly forgettable "Goldwyn Follies" from 1938, Starring, Andrea Leeds, Adolphe Menjou, Kenny Baker, Bobby Clarke, and the unforgettable Ritz Brothers. A beautful song non the less. 5***** to you for this fitting tribute. Thank You.

  • ira did a wonderfu job in creatin the rest of a classic.... whatever he was feeling... maybe his brother inspired him with the hook............ira was w wonderful lyricist, .... its very clear, and his brother, a truly great composer!!!

  • It's very clear !!
