i love that the top 8 finalists are all from rus, rou, usa and chn. i'd want to see all of them compete again next season, with the new scoring system and see if the result is the same.

its still gonna be two seperate scores but instead of the 10 hardest skills its only 8, so there will be more time to dance on floor. also there are a couple of new connections and requirements.

Interesting to see, read the comments after the fact. Except for a few, everyone was way off! The other side of the universe off.=) I would have liked to see Daria in the AA, she disappointed me. I was also expecting more from Jade. What happened?! Did she cave under the pressure? Chellsie was a credible threat based on her performances in nationals and trials, but at the podium training in beijing I knew Nastia was still going to come on top.

Daiane have not competed on beam since 2005 and she didn't compete UB at the olympics..only FX and VT.

Personally, I think that Nastia's the best out there. It's just my opinion, but I prefer old school gymnastics from the 80s and early 90s when it was about grace as well. Don't get me wrong, there are some great powerhouses, but I also think that artistry should play a bigger part in it. Even though she's not a power gymnast, I think Nastia's the best.

I completely agree, Nastia has more grace but i think shawn just has a lot of power. I really hope Nastia does well at the olympics!! Go Nastia!! Go team USA!!

Go Nastia!!!!!!! I think Nastia just needs to work on her dismounts on bars and beam and her scores would be higher, then she would have a better shot at winning. I really want her to win the all around, beam and bars. I think she really deserves it. and GO TEAM USA!!!!!!!

As much as I like Dasha Joura, I don't think she has a realistic shot at the all-around unless everyone else fails miserably.  Her difficulty doesn't compare. Her execution may be fantastic but it might not be enough. It's a bummer because I think she's a fantastic gymnast to watch.

Nice montage!!! Well, definetely Yang Yilin will be on the mix. I've just seen her on the french nationals (invited guest) and she won the AA over Jiang (my fav), but Jiang didn't throw her gorgeus amanar there. 2nd day on EF Yang fell on the first pass of her fx and performs a pretty shaky beam routine! But even falling she's still gorgeus to look at, and with this new choreo so brilliant and delicate...

Yang Yilin is a realistic threat for the All Around. She's sporting increased difficulty on all her events. She has a 7.7 beam routine, a new DTY, more diffuclty on beam, and more difficulty on floor as well. She recently scored a 15.2 on floor at a recent World Cup event. Yang is a HUGE threat for the All Around.

She definitely is a major AA contender (IMHO more than Nistor and Barbosa); it's rumoured she's training the Amanar and she has a 6.4 FX routine. Great montage!

I agree that Yang Yilin is a contender. I simply overlooked her and definitely would have included her in the montage if I had given it more thought (it was a bit hastily thrown together). I look forward to seeing how well they all do in Beijing :)
