I'm not sure what Bible you read, but there are rules in relation to slaves in the Bible. It describes when and where it is ok to beat your slave, how many you can have, and so on. I swear people just pick out the happy parts of the Bible and forget the rest, which happens to be horrific and brutal.

As far as Moses and the Pharaoh, Moses was asked to retrieve them, not because slavery was wrong, but because he wanted them to worship him in the woods. The Bible justifies slavery, so I'm not sure what you're talking about when you say the "lord delivered us from slavery." The people who fought and died in the Civil War are the people who delivered us from slavery.

Understand that in the old testament God was dealing with Jews as the only people in relationship to Him, for His names sake, because of their father Abraham's faith in God. So God treated gentles as dogs, outside of covenant with Him. All gentle nations served idols, and in reality this means they worshiped demons. Rather the Bible says if you are a slave, obey your master but it is far better to be free. And if you are a master you are to treat your slaves with respect. No where does it justify it. In fact, a major reason why people fought to free slaves was because of their Christian beliefs.
