  • amazing. just amazing. the work speaks for itself

  • No piece of music in the history of man (his own 9th symphony comes close) better encapsulates the theme of accepting death. Every time I hear this it's like i'm being lovingly beckoned away from corporeal existence itself - the very definition of sublime.

  • the moment the chorus kicks in my eyes water up. every time i listen to this movement.

  • great, better than listening to this is only singing this. imho this could be sung much quieter and with less vibrato. but doesn' matter, the music goes from microcosm to macrocosm and back...

  • @Abyssalon The sound needs the vibrato to travel. Besides, it's so quiet there are no tuning issues. And it's Mahler -- it demands the vibration. Save the straighter sounds for English Cathedral music.

  • At 1.13 one cute lady of the corous forgets to sing, just smiles to Leonard. Totaly understands her , he is gorgeous. Ay 4.10 she´s back on.

  • Its hard to find anything as beautiful as that.

  • thank you! my favourite bit of my favourite symphony!

  • Wow, Bernstein is so absorbed in to this music... He looks very exhausted.

  • @knvb1123 ...and utterly happy! :)

  • Ich liebe diese Symphonie! Besonders den letzten Satz. Die Chöre gemeinsam mit den Solisten sind unübertroffen!
