WOW! These are the first sounds I've heard from the European harmonium. How very different they are from the sound of an American reed organ. The obvious difference being the fact that the harmonium is pushed air and the Am. reed organ is pulled air. I have two Am. reed organs and their sound is nothing like this beautiful little instrument. although I do like how they sound. Thank you for posting this!

This is a noble sounding harmonium, and I really enjoyed listening to Jesu, Meine Freude (one can find it in many hymnals under that name in the index). I taught myself to play as a child on a small harmonium. It is a dear sound to me. Sylvester, Times Square

Très joli! L'harmonium est le plus parfait des instruments à son naturel. Malheureusement, il n'est pas à la mode, mais pour ceux qui n'ont pas la possibilité d'avoir un orgue à tuyaux (comme l'ont dit), c'était une bonne solution. Les instruments électroniques continuent d'avoir un son qui n'a pas de saveur...
Il s'agit d'un Choral n°92 qui figure dans le deuxième volume de Louis RAFFY " Organistes célèbres et grands maîtres classiques " aux éditions musicales de la scola cantorum et de la procure générale de musique (Suisse).
Bravo pour ce choral; j'ai beaucoup apprécié ! Peut-être pourriez-vous proposer d'autres morceaux qui mettent plus en relief les différents jeux de l'instrument ?

Fascinating. I can imagine the Vierne pieces on this such an instrument. I first learned off a harmonium, so the sound brings back memories. thanks.

The BWV number is 610 , and at bh2000(dot)net/score you can have the entire work of Bach for organ, including, of course this choral
