Spring was all about, like, birth and stuff hence the eggs and the easter bunny had some significance but I'm totally blanking on what that was. Pagan Christmas had the origin of the tree, the yule log, and I'm thinking the gifts as well, but I may be wrong on that. Haha It's all good, German and English are very different languages but I get what you say.

Just to let everyone know, celebrating Halloween is not a sin.
If you check through the 613 laws, there is no law stating that someone cannot celebrate a pagan holiday, let alone participating in dressing up along with fun and games. I don't know why the Orthodox Jews are so against it as I am Orthodox myself and don't see anything wrong with it. As long as you're not contacting spirits, participating in witchcraft, or anything like that, then its a-ok.

I think what the woman is really trying to say is the Company that puts out those certain candies or certain candies, higher ups (owners or stock owners ect.) Some of them maybe not all, could be satanist or involved in satanism. It has been a long time rumor with different companies in the past. @gatskillz Pretty much every Christian holiday is derived from some Pagan tradition. Christmas and Easter namely. The Church just "christianized" them to make them seem more powerful I feel. "Oh yeah, we're so big we have our own holidays." December 25th isn't really Jesus' birthday. I'm just saying. Halloween I don't think was ever Christianized except in the eyes of the ignorant. It's stayed relatively true to its roots (thankfully).

to the reason, why the 'new' holidays, fall on the old ones, i think they also did that, to better erase the old ones from memory. maybe so no holidays would be missed, perhaps because astronomically or something, those dates might have some significance too.
a lot of churches are built, in places of power, where older religions had their altars (don't know all the right words, my first language is german ;) (hope this last part wasnt too incoherent for nonstoners)

@gatskillz I know that Christmas was originally a celebration of the winter solstice and that Easter was a celebration of the spring equinox. Spring was all about, like, birth and stuff hence the eggs and the easter bunny had some significance but I'm totally blanking on what that was. Pagan Christmas had the origin of the tree, the yule log, and I'm thinking the gifts as well, but I may be wrong on that. Haha It's all good, German and English are very different languages but I get what you say.
