  • Come on...her chest is still about 10 inches off the ground in the "down" position of that push-up. What a joke! And what's the point of all these weird exercises? If you want a decent body-weight work-out, then why not just stick do some one-arm push-ups, or another real exercise like that?

  • I agree with you for the most part. However keep in mind that every persons physique is not the same. I for one have an incredibly hard time doing regular push ups because I am extremely double jointed. I have to keep my arms wider than usual or else my elbows will blow out. Plus they probably thought it would be too sexual to have her chest squish against the floor LoL.

  • the third exercise is a very traditional indian wrestling exercise called "DAND"

    very old form of building upper and core strength...

  • you are not supposed to go all the way down because by going all the way down you hyper-flex your knee which is the weakest and most dangerous position (it may cause injuries to both joint and meniscus)

    going into the "banana" form is not good for your back at all. You'd think someone who calls himself a "personal trainer" would know that protecting your back is a very big concern.

  • the down and up dog is an ashtanga yoga move, its an impossible move unless you have the muscle strength to do it

  • ummmm, i take jiu-jit-su and we do about 30 down and up dogs everyclass; we do 20 military(push up and clap) push-ups and 10 triangle push-ups after that; we call down and updog: 'judo push ups'

  • Your core muscles do all the work. Keep the core engaged and allow the core to control the movements.

  • On the contrary, it's an excellent move to work on your lower back strengh. Like tazleighs said, it's one of the centrai move of Ashtanga yoga... It's also widely used in fitness: Hindu pushup / dive bomber pushup. You should spend less time playing video games (or at least write misinformed comments) :)

  • I just don't see how bending your back like that can be good. I already have some back pain at age 15 and I know those push ups don't feel good at all.

  • Well, maybe you should try this move then as it sound like you have a weak back. The lower back needs to be work out just like the abs (it's part of your core muscles). It's not an easy move so it's no surprise it doesn't feel good. It's a great stretch tough. You don't have to take our word for it... just check yoga pages or just google hindu push up (dive bomber push up).

  • woman don't do push ups you will lose your breast like her. You will also get masculine shoulders.

  • if your a woman you wont nessecarily lose your breasts..your chest will get tighter and you wont get masculine shoulders unless you use a combination of pushups and weights. if your a woman youll just get a tighter chest and a little harder defined muscles (which you want) you wont get mass muscle since woman dont produce as much testosterone as men - if your only doing pushups. :)
