of course you can't. Chivalry overwrites all game-files. To play both you need to create a copy of your gamefolder before you install chivalry.

The AI is so far slightly improved for the first 4 civs. It is still a "beta AI" and not finished yet. Play online if you want a challenge.

In a way. Chivalry changes all graphics and most civ characteristics and adds new units and techs. The gameplay is still the same, but with some interesting changes.

What did you do to avoid the "red dots error"? You know, it's a problem all the windows 7 users face and causes the ground to have red dots everywhere and ruins your picture a bit.

@greatman63 First, start the AOE game. Then go to the task manager, and end the process named "explorer.exe".

This will basically quit all other applications, your desktop will become blank, you won't be able to click on the start menu again, etc.

But then if you press alt + tab, you can get back to your game and the game colors are normal.

To get back to the normal windows again with your desktop and stuff, you log off using ctrl + alt + tab, then log back on and its normal again

@ZeroEmpires i'm also running AoE 2 but when i'm starting the game the colors in the game is wierd. The groun is little red and also the the trees. And the water i purple. And the players color is so annoying. Do you know what to do?

Do this Mod have an own Difficulty. I felt like its for Pros. i played on easiest and hardest (me and 2 NPC vs 5 )an noticed that on hardest they kill villagers ,too

Copy your AoE2-game folder and install chivalry in the copied folder. That way you will still be able play Conquerors while chivalry is installed. Chivalry installs like an "add-on", but also changes language files.

If you happen to have the Gold- or Collectors edition of AoE you must not install the c-patch again. This causes the game to ask for a cd, afaik. If this is the case, uninstall everything completely and just install your game and after that Chivalry without the c-patch!

Wow, I never found this video when searching for age of chivalry and kind of stumbled across it.

First of all: a very nice ingame-video and nicely explains the stuff.

However, you didn't mention some of the new stuff of early ages - probably because you're new to chivalry yourself. :)

You can already build Lowland Barracks AND Highland Barracks in the 12th century (for other civs: Levy/Militia Quarters, Stable, Archery Guild)

Additionally:

Some of the stuff you explain as "general" is unique to Scotland, e.g. having Highland and Lowland Barracks with different units available. You still have civs that train cavalry from the stable, Infantry from "Quarters" etc.

About the Princely Court: the uniqueness about the 4 military techs: you can only research one - so yes, you'd better have waited. :)

@indypatriotfan when i play I have to close windows explorer from the task manager and then alt + tab into the game. When you exit the game you then go into task manager and under the application tab click new task and type in explorer. Hope this helps :)

then save it as "whatever you want".bat

@pppXpros there is a really better method to fix colors. I can make a simple .reg file and you will forget about such problems with this game forever, and no need to kill explorer etc.
