I'm not sure about the severity of Powell's alleged "injury". He seems to be runing fine, and is right up there. Until, that is he can see Gay going away from him, then it is clear he just stops running. If he was injured his whole race would be run at a lower effort; he would not be at the front with only 40m to go! I still think it's a mental problem. You can see him lean back and ease up with like 20m to go. Thats 20% of the race he's just thrown away.

I agree Bolt is naturally quicker, the guy's a freak of nature, no-one should be able to stroll across the line in 9.69, and you're right, it may take some time for Gay's body to get used to running that fast. I don't think Powell will ever beat either of them again, he loses it upstairs before the race.

I think it'll be a really close 100 and 200, I can't see Bolt winning them both by a large margin, but he'll win them both, no world records though, the track won't be fast enough.

Yea..it will be close...especially in the 100m because it's difficult to recover from mistakes made at the start in the 100m. Both finish well, so if either Bolt or Tyson makes a mistake at the start it could spell doom for the other. Asafa is talented, but unfortunately talent alone can't make it at this level. I want both Bolt and Tyson to remain healthy for Berlin..and I want both to run their best possible race in the 100m and 200m..that should be something to behold

I think the 100 will be much closer than the 200, they'll both run 9.7-8 in the 100, but Gay can't get close to 19.3-4 in the 200, Bolt can, and will. If he's in shape, and he says he will be, and it's decent conditions, I can see Bolt running very very fast. This 9.79 was with a 2.79m/s tailwind, bolt ran 9.9 into a headwind, he'll win, but it'll be close.

Asafa had the 2nd fast time leading into the Olympics, behind Shawn Crawford 9.88; However Asafa was the hottest sprinter in the world. Once as both Jamaica and US Olympics trials was over, Asafa was beating everyone including, Greene and Gatlin. Gatlin, for the record didn't even win a single race final until the Olympic Finals.
