My rabbit is a giant rabbit and by the looks of things and comparisons, he looks to be one of the biggest giant rabbit breeds. Since he's so big, I can't really pick him up in this way and have to lift him more like a child, is this ok? He's happy and chilled with it but just incase. (:

I totally agree I don't like to pick rabbits up by the scruff though some folk use that method. As you RIGHLY sed NEVER pick them up by the ears NO. Supporting them by the hind quarters is VITAL & your method of picking them up gently putting your hand round their chest is a good method. I used to keep rabbits so I have a good knowledge on this though you sure know your stuff to VERY intersting. I've done other work in animal husbandry to.

@TurboXtr3me ya i saved a wild cottentail from drowning it was a month old and we kept it. That rabbit was well trained when you first get them they bite scratch freak out. I have to wear 2 sweaters and gloves when putting it back in its cage. Just get a dog.

My rabbits go on to win shows, and become 4-H rabbits for kids who because of me get to go further with my help and guidance, and providing a good well bred pedigred rabbit. Dont carry a rabbit. They will have a lot of fear, because in nature the only time they get carried around is when a wolf or another fiend will eat them.Only carry the rabbit, when it is for its own sake, like when your going to the vet. Dont EVER buy from a breader! Therer are thousands of rabbits in Animalshelter out there! Rabbits live in Groups and need a lot of space (Dont use Cages!). And never belive somebody, that calls himself an expert to make money. Ask Animal-welfare organisations!

Her facts are right, but that is not the right way to carry your rabbit. You have to supports their front and right legs, and then lift their belly up. Then, carry rabbit like you are hugging it. That will make them feel secure, and they will not kick and scratch.
