  • wish all my rebel heroes werent marxist

  • interesting story to be sure. I dig the spirit of the tiger4s and dig their cause, but this documentary is horribly edited for a bbc production. Must have limited access to footage

  • It looks like Srilanka never had a good leader. Unfortunately, Tamils had it. It could have been easily solved by giving a separate state for Tamil and providing electoral rights. Now, considering the situation, I don't think a separate state will make people to live in harmony. Look at India which has 28 states with 28 official languages. Each state has their own culture with specific dance, music, and food. Give tamils a separate state and let them live happily. Bring in Democracy like India!

  • @santhoshkanna1 "bring in democracy like india". are you joking? ironically, the only time both sinhalese and tamils join in union is against india. seriously, srilankan democracy is a damn sight better than india's. there are still people in your country who still have that stupid culture of treating women like dirt, denying them the basic human rights. whilst that is probably the same in sri lanka as well, there are much much more cases of this in india

  • We are discussing about democracy and there is no bigger democratic country than India. We are not talking about treating women. FYI: President of India (Women), Leader of Ruling party (Women), 4 chief Ministers (Women), so many women in MP's, MLA's and army/sports, etc, etc. Do you have one Tamil in your army? We learn from our mistakes. I hope you will also learn

  • @santhoshkanna1 and dont get on your high horse thinking that india is better. last time i checked you still had a situation with some region in the north-west of your country, i can't quite seem to remember what that region is.

and there are even statistics that prove that sri lanka is better in human development indices than you. when will you lot realise that sri lanka is a damn sight better than that hell-hole of a country of yours and that we are capable of sorting out our own mess

  • @SLwootwootUK : There is no high horse thinking involved. I was trying to make you guys understand when people in India can coexist with so many cultural differences why can't Srilanka coexists with with just Tamils and Sinhalese!! India/any other country would never ever kill its own people. But, srilanka does. Human indices? Joke of the era. In last 3 years, Srilankan army has killed 40,000 Tamils! I would be the first person to be happy if Srilanka gets better. I would love to see that.

  • @santhoshkanna1 flaws in your points:

thanks for saying that no other country would never kill its own people. I'm pretty sure you've forgotten about Russia &Chechneya; Syria; Myanmar; god knows how many more. And your beloved country is fighting a battle against maoists at the moment. I believe they are Indians.

Also thanks for implying that i support the srilankan army. I know exactly what they did and I've given up on taking sides. Both sides have committed atrocities, past and present

  • @SLwootwootUK: No country can think about killing their own people. Srilanka doesn't have to follow the wrong foot steps of Russia, Syria and Myanmar. India is not fighting against maoists using its Army. No heavy weapons (only guns), no air force and importantly army cannot attack maoists. Army can only create strategies and train state police to fight them. Maoists have voting rights, they can go to school, they are not raped, and they are considered equal to any other citizen.

  • @santhoshkanna1 so i feel that they are both guilty and should face whatever is coming to them. The only difference is because the LTTE have gone underground, no-one can track them down now. And I believe it's unfair that only the government will look to be facing charges (whilst totally deserved).

Next point- did you actually say that human indices are a joke or just do not know what they are. I strongly suggest you see them and the different factors that make them up

  • @santhoshkanna1 the majority point in the favour of sri lanka.

Next point- you can talk all about statistics like that, but i'm pretty sure we have the same proportion of women in the parliament as india does. And FYI having a women leader of a country is no new thing- Sri Lanka had the first in the world.

Last point- yes there is at least one tamil in the army. I can put money on that.

  • @SLwootwootUK I was defending your fact that women are suppressed from their rights. That is past now. If Srilankan govt. has brought in more Tamils in army and parliament and if they have been given equal consideration, Tamils wouldn't have got separatist feeling. Past is past. I wish Srilanka will become united and prosperous soon. All the best.

  • @santhoshkanna1 at least we finally agree, although tamils do have the same rights and can go to school etc. It is however the perceptions of the extremist, idiotic hardline sinhalese that end up with SOME sinhalese people treating them inhumanely and try to deny them their basic human rights. but yes i strongly believe that there was a reason for some tamils feeling that they have to take up a gun etc. and that the past is the past and we must learn from it

  • @SLwootwootUK i do agree that the tamils should have been given much more consideration in parliament. i also strongly believe that (here comes the possibly blasphemous part) rajapakse is poison to sri lanka. even without looking at the strongly controversial last 2 months of the war, he has changed the law about presidential length of term limit to no limit whatsoever. whilst the past is the past, history has proven that this is the first step to dictatorship. and one thing is definite

  • @SLwootwootUK at the end of the war, the majority of the money did not go to the north where it was needed, but rather to his home town (note the new cricket stadium and the new international port and harbour). yes that area is also the other major poor part of the country, but money should have been split equally. anyways peace.

  • @SLwootwootUK I appreciate your views. is there anyway to stop rajapakshe? god only knows! let us keep our fingers crossed for the expected change!

  • @santhoshkanna1 see i would say his death (natural of course) but as soon as he goes he's got like 3/4 brothers in the cabinet with the same views as him who are most likely going to take over. i dunno, so finger crossing is all we can do without damaging the weak but present stability that is currently on the island

  • @santhoshkanna1 you cannot come to a generalisation that there are no tamils in the forces just because there are plenty of tamil tiger videos about

  • Why is the video and audio not synced when I watch this?

  • isnt it wonderfukl how the SInhalese and tamils had sucha war with old rusty tanks and not to forget Sri Lankan made APCs, but still it looks so great, the oldiers look courageous, both government Army and the rebels, shows we are good at certain things.

  • It began with importation of 1 million tamils into Ceylon? As usual all these problems have a colonial connection in this case Portuguese, Dutch, English and Indian.

Today, the LTTE is cornered and thousands of innocent civilians are surrounded.

The West have a finger in most of the world's trouble spots, such as Tibet, Taiwan, Palestine, Iraq etc When will they stop their agenda??

  • R&AW started training the LTTE to keep a check on Sri Lanka, which had helped Pakistan in the Indo-Pak War by allowing Pakistani ships to refuel at Sri Lankan ports.

  • facts however not connected and muddled.. example.. JVP has nothing to do with ethnicity.. they have a COMPLETELY different agenda.. these facts presented make me laugh..

  • sinhala n tamil U R MA BROTHA'S

  • it tells the truth...

some shinhala assholes..who were born in south and had no such knowledge of what happened in east and north thigs they can talk wteva they want...

those monkeys sud watch this video...

  • I am a Sinhalese too. I am ashamed of racist, extremist Sri Lankans may it be Sinhalese or Tamil. They are depriving of us a united Sri Lanka.

I feel your pain mate, Even some Tamils born outside of Sri Lanka still fight the same battles their parents and grand parents fought not knowing that our generation doesnot see Tamils as LTTE but our brothers.

Mate give us a chance. I don't think it's too late for us.

  • @dasiths the WAR was good. I like how the watr happaned, but for sucsess in science we need unity because in unity only we have good education values.

  • ma vafan culooooooooooooooooooo

  • i love this Documentary
