What a powerful, emanational, passionate and melancholic song!
Right from the outset the playing of traditional instrument create a beautiful atmosphere. The singer is very talented and gracious, he sings with passion. I am moved by the sadness and feelings of grieve in the song. I love this song. I only wish the lyrics were translated in to english. Bravo!!!
I moved every time listening to this song even though I could not understand every words in this song. Itsuki Hiroshi is a talented singer. His passionate voice and the song's beautiful melody attract me and make me remember the past years which i spent and special persons I loved. Thanks.
@Tvaaranen So i,m Finnish but i really dont know what You mean....maybe you are so young to understand.I,m Enka fan and i know something about the matter of it.Open channel Masami and listen to Teresa Teng with english lyric i think You will like it ..
Listening to this music is a totally transcendental experience..its like going back in time. When listening to this music in Japan, it was like going back to the Edo period.
The Kotou playing method is Japanese and the style is different from the Korean variation.
This is the Japanese style and is more melodic than say - the sharper Chinese Style.
As for the Korean variation of Ko`Tou , it is sharp in sound and harmonic in nature.
The singer is singing in Japanese as Enka is a Blues kinda music that depicts either sadness , grieve , lost , struggles of life , sad relationships and fights.
The Korean version of ENKA is similar. But listen , its Japanese

This is one of the Enka I love the best and I also love listening to Itsuki Hiroshi's songs, nice voice and the songs bring lot of memories back to me...I will watch it during the New Year time"Red & White Festival" and I will record down all the Enkas.
I was accidently knew this marvolous singer. I bought his album at Book Off shop at Tama Plaza, Yokohama Japan. His singing techniques was extreemly great bcoz he had managed to deliver the lyrics that make it lively. I wish that someday I can perform his songs...
Sounds like the Hindi film song-- Jaane kahan gaye wo din!

Even though I don't understand much. The passion and emotion that is radiating from him is so moving that it makes tears whell up
And that says something because I'm not an emotional person.

Lovely, gorgeous, gentle Itsuki Hiroshi.
I saw him perform many times live in Tokyo.
He is multi talented. He played 8 different instruments when I saw him as well as being a gracious performer.
