@nmhz the record he is using is called ultimate cakes and sweets pretty rare made by dj mex from brighton england, wicked old school skratch record though mine is fucked from years of use but luckily have a spare!!!
I saw his US finals also. Cool to see development in his routine from then to this. Most previous world comp competitors won their country competitions and stuck to their routine. Craze a true champion won the US finals then fine tuned his set to conquor all. All time legend
Absolutely ridiculous.. I think his 2000 routine was insane too, he was picking up the needle and cutting without the fader, f'n crazy. I met this dude @ a grand opening of a DJ store I was working at, cool ass dude. We burned one after he did a Stanton Demo... Good times
This was a dope year I remember talking to him and telling him I thought he was probably going to win it again the following year. He was so humble about it, saying there's a ton of strong cats out there. I was like naw, judging from what I had seen, I could tell overall he was well ahead of the pack at that time. Craze is just really well rounded, He's got scratch skills on both sides, a good sense when putting together routines and great word play. His sets are rhythmic and entertaining.
That's cool ;). I had some videos. 3 of em or so from '98. The DJ"s I liked were DJ Cookie, DJ Lil Jazz, some DJ from Hawaii and some DJ from..... India I think? I've been looking for em here, but no luck yet. U know where to find more of this guys stuff?
@hiphopmixtapes yeah bro and every time i see it? ..... truly amazing ...... practice..... practice...... practice!!!!!!!! you should check his earlier routines too if you havent yet he been scratching a long time bro
que de souvenir, j'etais dans la salle ce jour la, craze etait sans contest le plus complet, respect à crazy B qui arreta les dmc après celui la, mais la victoire de craze etait merité malgré le gros defending de A-trak
how dope is this ????????

This set sounded so f*cken good on the mp3's (without visuals) when I first downloaded it back in 2000.
Crazy now that I see this video for the first time, what he was actually doing (visually) all those years behind those funky tunes.

1998, 1999, 2000 was some of the most memorable years in DMC
bigfatdick5000 1 year ago
@bigfatdick5000 Without a doubt & this was probably the best of his routines.
Except for the showcase he did in the year he did this at the UK finals which I can't find on Youtube.
Was an amazing juggle with Dance to the Drummers Beat!

Just watched that again it is that good. Not seen this set for ages. By far the most accomplished DJ to ever come out of the DMC battles.
A-trak and DJ Noize are my other favourites.
Italbless 3 years ago
Awesome set, his one at the 1998 USA finals is worth checking out - equally incredible.
Does anyone know the tune he uses for the intro wordplay, Canibus and ????? The bit with 'you better mention me'.

I think is USA finals 1998 routine was 10x better though, he came out hard! He would have won worlds with either routine!
