  • When the brake is released to be loose the carriage slightly moves from side to side, feels like its a bit too loose. There is a slight jolt when starting and ending the sliding motion. Is that normal or is it a problem? Thanks a lot for your answers as i have probably irritated you with my numerous questions already :)

  • @ghoraaa Start/end of slides can be uneven that's common, but there are screws you can tighten on the side...but main thing to help with any slider is to get a fluid head on top to dampen any jitters.

  • @psynema Thanks man, will be waiting for my Ball Head then :)

  • Hi, my slider arrived three days ago, its excellent, thank you for your review and information.

Ive got one last question though, how do you slide slowly with it, without the slider picking up motion and jutter from the hand? Im still waiting on the Ball Head from China so i've attached my camera directly to the slider and found it really hard to achieve slow sliding movements.

    Thanks

  • @ghoraaa Never had a problem, but mainly attaching directly to the slider will do that. Also lightly touch the corner carriage with the pad of your finger and drag is what I did but really never had an issue with jutter

  • i put some rubber legs on mine so it doesnt tip over on serfaces. i think everyone should do that. alot more smoother you dont have to worry about it tipping. it cost $1 the maker should think about them. would make it a better slider

  • are u talking about the Motion Slider 36 SLIM Camera Slider w/ Ball Head

  • @filmsourcefilms the roller bearing one...

  • @psynema can i get a link? so do you not suggest this model anymore is there any reason

  • @filmsourcefilms actually I do suggest it stilll

  • @psynema i got the 24 and it has some space on the top and side to side. so it shakes some.im currently looking for something to fix this

  • @filmsourcefilms tight the screws some

  • @filmsourcefilms 24phd dot com It's still great slider for the price, but there are a few variations they have if you're interested.

  • whats there new slider

  • nice video do you think its a drawback that it doesnt have legs for it?

  • @filmsourcefilms Not really but I think you can get legs for it separately

  • @psynema im going to give it a go.

  • @filmsourcefilms nice...I'm debating on trying their new one currently.

  • @psynema Thanks. Two more questions. Do you really find 24" enough? Cuz im quite paranoid about whether to get 24 or 36. Also could you plase recommend a cheap Quick Release/Fluid head that you goes well with it? thanks

  • @ghoraaa longer sliders tend to require two tripods though your mileage may vary (a really heavy one will suffice for 36 inches). For me yes, 24 inches was enough, but it depends on what you do. I needed portability since I have to be ready on a moment's notice for events so I wanted something smaller. 36 will look nice but it will slow you down. So long as you have a foreground element near the camera, 24 will be fine. Manfrotto makes small mini fluid heads. Manfrotto 700RC2

  • Great video! I heard that camera tends not to get tight enough if attached directly to the slider and wobbles a bit. is that true? and what ir your opinion on motion slider slim? would you reccomend it over the standart 24? thanks

  • @ghoraaa Never tried the slim yet, hoping to get the 20 inch micro or the new roller one that just came out. I never tried it with the camera directly mounted, you wouldn't be able to pan or tilt, so never bothered trying.

  • This was very helpful thank you.

  • WOW! Great video! Very helpful! Does it make any noise?

  • @mkl687 Thanks. Not really any noise to speak of, nothing that shows up on camera - you can see it slide on the first shot when I introduce it, not really any noise unless you bump into the end caps.

  • This is awesome, it's great to find a review on this seemingly obscure eBay product. Thank you for taking the time to make it!

  • @TheOrfordonian Thanks. Selling mine and want to get the Micro Slider instead and give that a try. Motion Slider is also on Amazon and direct on their site (prices may be a bit different) but I remember Amazon had them at $125.

  • @psynema ah ok, so do you still recommend the 'Motion Slider 24"?

  • @TheOrfordonian YES! But to me since I have a glidecam, my personal preference is smaller, since the GH2 is small. the 24 is longer and actually cheaper than the Micro Slider (they're both made by the same company btw).

  • Your videos are outstanding, and deeply apprecitated. Your work is top notch. Thank you!

  • @CincyWeddingVideo Thanks - you do weddings/events too?
