Being attracted to black women would be considered a fetish. I'm a black woman and I have an affinity for white men. Or, some could call this a fetish. The attraction to any body part that is not genitalia can also be described as a fetish. Theres nothing wrong with the word fetish. I'm guessing you like BLACK women. BROWN skin. I like white skin. Skin is not genitalia, so the attraction to a certain skin color can in turn be described as a fetish.
I look at a fetish as a foot fetish. I can see how some people use this if they think its "exotic" to go for something different like a black woman. I myself wouldn't use it though. Some think that if they single out and say hey, i wanna try a black girl. Anyone can do that.. its part of the human psyche if they seen nothing else or are having bad luck in their own community.
I wish people would get over this race issue already. People are people. At best, a preference for a certain type of person should be classified as a partiality, but certainly not a fetish. It shouldn't matter who we date and/or fall in love with, as long as we are happy with that person and vice versa. I'm glad you've met someone who makes you happy. It is a very racist term. It's meant to dehumanize people of color and make it seem like there is something wrong with finding them attractive. Think about it this way, how come the white partner in these relationships are never referred to as a 'fetish'?

@NYatheist ....hot gal with great feet, perfectly manicured and painted nails, in sexy high heels. Therefore I conclude that the fetish category tends to be bullshit in the first place. And to say someone prefers a certain type of woman, whether by race, or anything else, that's a compliment. It's saying you think they look better. It's only when the fetish word gets brought into that it gets reversed and seems like a bad thing. So people need to rethink this whole concept of a fetish I guess.
