Sorry to correct the title but 'i mewn' really means 'inside' and 'in' within this context should be 'yn' so the title ought to read 'Myfanwy yn Gymraeg'
I am a hard nosed Scottish Jew, and this has me with tears streaming down my face, get soft in my old age, no! I heard this 50 years ago on the wireless ( Radio) and it had me then and it still does .
@RABENUTAM Thanks so very much for your lovely comment. Getting softer and mellower as we get older is a lovely thing.. your comment made me smile and warmed the cockles of my heart :-) x
Joseph Parry's childhood sweetheart - Myfanwy Llywellyn - was almost certainly fictional. She was invented by Jack Jones, who wrote a historical novel about Joseph (Off to Philadelphia in the Morning).
I met Jack a few times. He was a wonderful storyteller, but a terrible liar. I don't think he even knew the difference.
Not heard this song for over 15yrs .. My fathers faverate .. such depth and feeling .. you will never hear that enywere on the planet apart from Wales ....balled my eyes out
Wales will win the RWC final 2011. Good song , but the video is to fast for the song.

I can't wait to become fluent. I passed up my native gaelic languages for the chance to learn cymraeg and I don't regret it.
