Ok I was reading a tutorial on Basic Retouch and Colorization. In one step it said to create a layer mask and fill in with black then paint with white and it showed in the next image how your screen should look. In the next image there was both a white and black layer mask. There was nothing in there about making a mask then duplicating that layer. Then I saw another one where folders were made and in their screen it seem to automatically add a copy of the image to the folder.
@SonicBoomC98 There are different ways to make masks. In this tutorial, I've simply created a layer mask, then painted on that mask to reveal/show what's on that layer. I can't speak for other tutorials, this is the way I do it.
@ladduro Thanks for the feedback! I'm not sure what my next videos are going to be, probably something related to video production. Unfortunately, I only have the time to make videos related to what I'm teaching and there isn't too much Photoshop happening at the moment! Thanks once again for your very kind feedback :)
Thanks for taking the time to watch the tutorials and comment, hallbe! Agreed...those eyes are supremely creepy. I should have toned down the saturation a little bit!
Great tutorial so basic and effective...More videos for us please...Thank you.

and the real problem here....is that my subject now looks like a smurf :P

Yeah, you've got to be subtle about it! Now, if you want to make your subject look like someone from Avatar, go nuts!
