One of the greatest remakes of a classic song that a music lover will ever hear. Rosie's daytime show always had amazing music performances and my workday in NYC sometimes began by closing the door to my office and listening aloud. This was one of those shows, and I haven't seen it since the day it aired. What an elegant, classy sound by you, Natalie, and the other guys, and I thank you so much sharing it here. I had just turned 15 when this was on tv. I remember sitting about a foot away from the screen and recording it on vhs so I could watch it over and over and sing along. This is just magical. Thank you!
Heard this last night on TV while watching the George Clooney / Michelle Pfieffer movie "One Fine Day" -- and flipped out over the sultry jazz version of this song being sung by this sexy female voice periodically throughout the movie. I could hardly concentrate on the dialog -- waiting for the next time they would play this.
Anyway, afterwards I jumped on the computer and found it was by Natalie Merchant, found her on YouTube -- and OMG this performance is even better !!!
I'm so glad one person hated it. If EVERYONE loved it -- I'd begun to wonder . . .
