How to jailbreak Apple TV 2G using The Pwange Tool

why is it that when i try to restore it on itunes it tells me that i cant do it and that my apple tv is not eligible for the request?

Thank you for the guide! Very nice! But i have a problem like many others here. iTunes will not accept the restore. And the pwnage tool will not search for the firmware file so i HAVE to use expert mode. And im not 100% sure im doing everything right here, although i do everything you say. What can I/we do? :)

@FLEXIBLEKID you CANNOT restore 4.1 firmware without the 4.1 SHSH blobs saved. Apple is no longer signing 4.1 so it will not work.

I am having the same problem I cannot find a way to update with iTunes it keeps blocking me.

I just jailbreak my Apple TV 2 using Pwnage Tool 4.1.2, all went well with the custom package and the DFU mode. However on the Itunes part i keep getting the error message : "This device isn't eligible for the requested build"

I tried both simple mode and Expert mode, but with no luck....

Any help with this matter will be appreciated

Both my iphone and my ATV doesnt want to enter DFU!!

I've made it before on my iphone and it worked but when 4.0 came i downloaded it without a jailbreak.

Now it doesnt work to enter DFU at all :(

@xavieryz Nothing will really change on the Apple TV or on your computer to show that you have jailbroken. You can move straight onto the next tutorial :)
