Greetings Everyone!!! If this song doesnt want to make you get up and dance ...... Please go have your pulse checked to be sure you are still alive!!!!!
Typical 80's . The band-members were zoomed smaller cuz the vast number of artists needed 2 be placed on a pad small as 12" x 12" . Just check. Nowadays we got all close ups on the covers.
They graduated from my alma mater Kentucky State University, I remember they use to come to every homecoming back in teh day. My brother use to date Belinda Lipscomb, I have the yearbook pics of my brother and her.
INNOVATORS OF SOUND!!!!!.......Never got their fair place in sparking the evolution of Black Music. Solar Records was NO JOKE THOUGH!!!......Shalamar, Bar-Kays, Midnight Star, etc.........
why we could never think of what this song meant after that long thought we are still to think of what they ever mean because we cheat but we make every thing seem like it shoulda coulda but bout to didda dang dang filla my long settle down with my now and for very much hereda.thanks jesus
last night me and my buddies we were smokin bud all night watched all 3 beverly hills cops, ate like 10 kilos of nachos and every type of snack you imagine and then listened to this dope ass playlist, 5 stars
we used to jam this at club mystery friday night 84' style in Rochester new york, the crowd would go wild to midnight start or ''The Star'' as we used to call them, the energy will never fade, thanks for the post!!!!
Sooooooo...good !!! No more operators left these days to putt You in line for some more music like this...and I've heard quite some stuff for now - I'm in my 40's now... in Germany we sued to mix this over and over ....Good Old TOR 3 in Duesseldorf !!! Freak Up !!
WRONG-Plenty of 1980s people who grew up in thier 40's now STILL PLAY**MIDNITE STAR->From TAPES still going 15 years strong** =) Let see people rebuild a 15 year old Scratched CD! >=)P
The groove on this song (as well as that on No Parking on the Dance Floor) is absolutely ARRESTING. I used to hear this kick-ass tune at Tejano Clubs in Houston, Texas when the DJs would do mixes of more Americana-type music as contrasted with Tejano/Traditional Mexican tunes. The response on the part of the patrons to those night clubs UPON HEARING TUNES LIKE THIS ONE, during the early eighties, was incredible. The habitues of those discoteques would immediately fill up the dance floor.
I love this Group....the 80's was the happiest time in my childhood, great memories, I used to dance around in the house with this song...and "freak-a-zoid".
cause us americans dont see the whole picture of things, we only look at one part of the item and plus were so focus on tryin to fit in were just so afraid of not being like by others so thats why things dont get the play when there good some of us americans dont understand and only like what everyone else likes
@tyoonz This was '84. Black music was too healthy for the industry!! If a great group like this fell by the side, just imagine how much great music our people were putting out back then.
@tyoonz Becouse rap came along, and most music that was produced was low grade for dance, it was crap rap, WY dint Kurtis Blow master rapper get more popular?

the 80's had great music, but it also had alot of crap. just like modern music has alot of good artists, but alot of cheap commercial crap too.
