If I were you I'd use 1/2 inch war arrows with war bodkins shot from a decent 110 lbs english warbow. Or even better, a Manchu composite warbow of comparable drawweight. That stuff was pretty much designed to go trough various types of armors at reasonable distances, especcialy if you use stout ash shafts for your arrows.
Ur problem is that the bow u shot dosent have enough FPE an the carbon arrow was either to light or a cheap brand an plus you were using field points which have less penetration an kinetic energy
@StrapAssassin1 First what exactly is FPE?lol. Second what does brand of arrow have to do with anything? They didn't break so they were obviously tough enough. Last, Field points DO NOT have less KE if they are the same weight. KE is simply a equation with mass and velocity being the determining factors. Broadheads will actually penetrate LESS due to the surface area of the blades creating drag. You should try and know what you are talking about before instructing others.
@tuffnutt34 Yeh they told me wood arrows would shatter too, I have shattered a few, rite out of the bow, but only when there is grain run off. I have switched to 3/8 wood, from 5/15, that made a big difference in the "archers paradox".
use fmj arrows those are stronger

ITs good that you used a bow, rather than those junks of metal that pass for a bow now
nothuman100 1 week ago
Wood generally has more mass than those light-as-shit-thin-as-hell carbon arrows, so you generally get better penetration.

try a 125gr field point on a 2216 superslam shaft. They go through. I put one through a 55gallon drum

You misunderstood him. He meant flatter trajectory thanks to the lighter projectile.
Let down the driver and passenger windows and you'll be able to shoot it right through the car.
Haha.
Good on you putting it to the test - did you ever show this to the salesman?
