@NightGuardian1994 The room was clean, I had no complaints about that though I did have the Do Not Disturb sign on the door and the maid came in anyway. That annoyed me a bit.
Aside from the Air Conditioning and all the time share trolls in the lobby we really enjoyed staying there. If we ever go back we'll stay someplace else, but this was a cool place to stay. You'll like it.
Saw the monorail vid.. doesnt seem to go very fast... I'm gonna look into it though and find out where the stops are and how much it is. Seemed reallly empty.. Wonder if peeps dont ride it that much..
I just looked at it and for some reason YouTube is running it at about half speed, the video should be about a minute and fifty seconds. I'll delete and re-upload it and see if that fixes it.
That video was about 10 in the morning though, later in the day and night it was more crowded but I don't remember it being too overly crowded. There were times when it was "standing room only" though.
Yeah, they can be quite annoying can't they? I've uploaded the Monorail video, it's still processing at this moment and for some reason it looks like it doubled the length of the video, but it'll give you an idea what it's like.
It's much better than walking and cheaper than cabs. I wouldn't visit Vegas without having a pass to ride it for my entire stay.
No problem, I may just sit down right now and re-upload all of the clips now that YouTube will take HD video (all of my video is in HD).
Be warned though, in the Luxor they'll come at you from all sides trying to sell you a timeshare. They're (the sales people) all over the lobby. They tried to get us even before we checked in.
How often does the monorail run ? We would like to get down to Paris while were there... Seems as if the monorail is way faster and cheaper... Which is cool..just curious about the wait time...
The wait time wasn't very long, they have multiple trains running. At least they did last August. It's cheaper than cabs for sure, at least it was for all the stuff we did.
For Paris from the Luxor you'll have to go over to the MGM station (not far to walk). I think Paris was 2 stops away from the MGM.
I'm going to post a small video if the Monorail right now. It's about a minute and 45 seconds long.
Yes, there's a station right in front of the hotel, there's 2 monorails actually, to get to the other station for the other side of the strip there's a station at the MGM across the street.
Keep in mind that there's limited stops, check out a monorail map to be sure it'd work for you but it's a lot cheaper than cabs and you don't have to tip the driver.
I thought I had a video of the monorail uploaded but I can't find it now. If you like I can upload it.
It's connected to the Pyramid but it's a different building. Watch the video again and at about 4:50 I pointed the camera out the window, you can't really see much because it's dark but you can see the lights of the Pyramid reflecting off the windows of the tower.
You could probably do a google search and see a better view. If you're facing the pyramid the tower (there's 2 actually). They are newer construction I believe. You won't be disappointed with the Pyramid though (I don't believe).
Be sure to get a monorail pass and I'd get a Vegas Power Pass too if you plan on going to other places outside the Luxor. We got both and wouldn't go again without them.
If you want details on those things feel free to email me.
Going there in Oct for my bday.. I'll pay the extra couple bucks, which i saved on the allegiant air deal, fly one, get one fly free. I like the Luxor, not as nice as the MBAY, but then again, who spends there time in the room in vegas anyways!!
The Luxor was pretty nice, I think if I were to go back (to the Luxor) I'd get a room in the tower though. I've heard that they're much nicer. We stayed in the pyramid though for the uniqueness of it and like you said, you won't be in the room all that much.
Be sure to check the 'smartvegas' website for Luxor Promotion Codes, you might be able to get further discounts.
Was it me or did those halls seem like single file only? and what is the deal with that Jacuzzi It seems so damn small? Was the room clean? and what was the going nightly rate? (p.s. if u want to make another video like this please do it when u get into the room for the very first time, we do not care to see ur used towels and mussed beds thank you)
We didn't spend much time in the halls, nor in the hotel for that matter so if the halls were single file it didn't really make an impression on us.
I don't remember exactly what the nightly rate was, it was discounted from the normal rate for a promotion. It was in the $90 to $100 a night range for the Spa suite. A non-spa suite would have been $60 to $70 a night though.
As for making the video, while it's on YouTube for all to see, I made it mostly for my family and friends. We had so many plans that making the video the first day wasn't even a thought in my mind.
In fact I didn't think of it till a few hours before my flight was to depart otherwise I would have done it the first day.
The room was clean, though needed a little updating I think. The AC really didn't cool the way I'd have liked but that was ok too.
Are the suites Smoking or is that a non smoking? I would get a smoking suite HAHA

Does the monorail stop right at the luxor ? And is it cheaper / quicker than a cab ?

Tower, I didn't know there was another building, or is it just a diff portion of the pyramid ?

Those hallways are so damn ridiculous at Luxor.

Yeah, I was lucky. Our rooms were right off the elevator so we didn't have to trek all the way down the halls.
